I dont think your ever to old to be drafted but allthough 7 in the USHL is awsome its not a guarenteed draft, but it is pretty much a guarenteed DI roster scholy so good luck to him with that.

You're never too old to get drafted. He committed to Yale before the season started.

this years draft you must be 18 by sept 15 of this year. Not sure when you are too old but it's around age 20 as you are now elegible for free agency. I think but I'm not sure if you have turned 20 before this years draft you are a free agent and can be signed by anyone. This is sometimes a better option then being drafted. Good luck to Brian. Always loved watching him play.

His draft year would have been 2006. North American players have a 2 year window after their original draft year to be selected. He is still eligible for the draft, he probably wont get picked though.

Most NHL teams probably wont be that high on a 20 year old 5-8 forward no matter how much they score in the USHL. Garret Roe, John Kemp, Carter Camper, Greg Squires all put up numbers to O'neill and didnt get drafted.

Most NHL teams look at it like this; Theres a very large pool of small, late-blooming, skill forwards that will play NCAA hockey. Half of those players will be pro prospects after 3-4 years of NCAA hockey. Half of that half will become NHL prospects at some capacity. Theyre a dime a dozen at that point in time, so why waste a pick, when their much more certain after their college careers as a free agent.
