HGP beat O'Hara 6-4 back in Novemeber and they outshot O'Hara 45-25

should be a great game

Seravalli is just having an incredible post season both in the Lower Bucks playoffs as well as in the Tournament.

When i last looked up at the shots in the game tonight they were 31 for HGP and 12 for La Salle. When i left i was really pulling for them to finish, glad to hear they did. What was the OT goal like.

Both games were outstanding. Malvern Outplayed o'hara for the first half, but could not put them away.

The Lasalle game was very good, HGP took it to them shot wise but fell behind early.

Both Winning teams came from behind to do so.

Best Hockey games all year were played tonight. Both of these games were exciting with dramatic finishes.

Lasalle, although they fell short are a very distinguished team with great coaching and leadership. They had a terrific season and played well all year.

Congrads to Holy Ghost Prep. Tonight was the first time I was able to see them play. Without a doubt they are a hard working team who rolled up their sleeves and got the job done.

Malvern worked hard and came out with a spark applying a lot of pressure on O'Hara tonight. In the end O'hara dug deep with a total team effort and earned the opportunity to defend their title. Kudos to the Ohara goalie who stepped up and made key saves to give his team a shot for the win.

Good luck, this should be a great final.

This one should be a great game. I would say so, Seravalli has accounted for 4 of HGP's 8 goals in the tournament so far and I believe he has 7 or so points. Patrick Corcran (sp?) also played great along with their entire defensive unit. Begley also played well but not to take away from a LaSalle team who played great at both ends of the ice just did not get the breaks in the end.

hgp vs lasalle was a great game.

i said on here that this would be the first game we'll have our entire team since around december. people said it didnt matter bc most of the season hgp had soroka, seravalli, and begley. this proves that a few players dont make up an entire team, even though those players are extremely important.

i thought all around hgp looked great last night. the whole team came through and played a helluva game. begley really came through down the stretch and made some incredible saves, and the defense really gelled. (finally)

seravalli has been awesome the last last 6 weeks. his speed and shot have created so many scoring chances. combined with soroka and andrusko they have the ability to create chances every shift. corcoran is a very clutch player, always delivers the big play. great game, good luck in the finals.

LaSalle probably played one of their worst games of the year. No disrespect to HGP, they played aggressive, took it to LaSalle and were the better team last night and deserving of the win. As one LaSalle team dad said, they played not to lose, they were beaten to pucks, fumbled the puck in front of their own net (as they did on the OT goal) and appeared to play conservative. It looked very similar to the Flyer Cup semi-final game last year against GA (3-1 loss). Reality is despite how talented they have been over the last several years (and as dominant they were this year), the current coach has not won a Flyers cup, and they seem to have had some of their worst games at crucial times.

Again no disrespect to HGP's efforts, they were the better team last night - good luck against Ohara.

lasalle didnt look as agressive as usual. i was surprised at how easy it was for ghost to break out, and how good ghost's transistion game looked. i thinnk ghost gave them match up problems, bc they have the ability to stretch the ice, and beat you with one long outlet pass to put someone on a breakaway. i really think lasalle prepared to prevent this play, and in effect their forecheck wasnt as successful.

dont know if they played not to lose, or their game plan was to prevent the big play. bc in that respect, they did prevent the big play that ghost usually looks for.

LaSalle did do a good job of cutting off the long pass, generally their defensemen looked for it the whole game, I don't think that wasn't the reason they weren't agressive.
Their game is speed and agression, many times there were pucks up for grabs where it appeared that each team had an equal chance at it, many times it appeared that the LaSalle player took a half step toward then backed off or hesitated, and that's just not generally how they played all year. It was like watching a football team play a prevent defense, it just prevents a team from winning.
The first 5 minutes of the overtime was the only time they looked like themselves for an extended period of time, they had Ghost on their heels, had several good chances and Begley did a great job keeping Ghost in the game, just a minute or two before the winning goal, a puck got through Begley's pads, and just went wide, they had a couple of rebounds during that time they couldn't get too.

On the winning goal it seemed that the puck came out of a scrum in the slot right to Corcoran who made a great shot less than 10' out, nothing Pyne could do about that. Ghost got the bounce (as someone above had said).

Again, not taking anything away from Ghost - it's a great effort and great win, but if La Salle plays their game, it never gets to overtime.

Lasalle played great all season and hats off to the kids. Probably played there worst game all season last night. They also lost there 2 top defensive players over the last month (Steph Gigliotti quit LaSalle and 18AAA Jr Flyers, and Rich Evan made a committment to JR B Minutemen).
Pyne kept Lasalle in the game. Holy Ghost kids played a great game and deserved to win. Good luck in the Flyers Cup final sunday.
