From very reliable sources there has been a surge in steroid use by Midget and Junior hockey players. Some of the basic signs of steriod abuse are:

1. Obviously sudden increse in mustle mass and weight gain.

2. Acne appearing on the face, back and shoulders.

3. Deformity, in some cases the players body will actually begin to deform and become unproportionate.

4. Attitude and mood swings, short temper and even violent outburst.

There are many other tell tale signs which can be researched on any internet health site.

For the health and welfare of the kids, don't wait if you believe your child may be using steriods. Even if your child is not using these drugs chances are they know players who are. Take the time to educate them on the dangers of drugs and the consequences.

The slobs who are pushing these steriods in the local gyms,fitness centers and even in the schools could care less about these kids. It's a money maker for them and the more steriods they push the richer they get. These pushers can't be trusted and will sell anything to make money. In some cases these dealers are selling animal hormons or other synthetic products that are being imported from other countries. Some of these products are a chemical mix (Halogenated Steriod) created by some sicko in a basement. These poisons are being injected by kids who have no idea what they are using and the effects can ultimately destroy their internal organs. In the majority of cases it's adult dealers who will establish a juvenile contact (mule) within a certain club or organization who they will use to push the drug and make the actual sale. These cowardly adult drug dealers will hide in the shadows and let the kids do the dirty work.

Ask your child questions and make some observations. Stop by the Gym to see whats going on. If you suspect somebody is pushing these drugs call your local police. Don't sit back and ignore this. If you all of a sudden see that kid you have known for years starting to look like pro wrestler your gut feeling is probably right.
