Cumberland Valley 5 Souderton 4 OT

CV never had a lead and missed a 2nd period penalty shot. Won it with a pp goal in OT. CV goalie Rodkey overcame a shaky start and made a number of miraculous saves to keep it close.

Freedom vs Neshaminy was 3 - 3 with 43 seconds left in the third. Hats off to Neshaminy for pulling the game out, to bad Freedom was missing Stoll and Gambacinni would of been interesting to see how it would of played out with two of their top scorers.

Conestoga 3
Neshaminy-2

Pretty good game by both teams. 0-0 at the end of the 1st Conestoga seemed to be the better team. Got thier 3rd goal on a wrap around, with the Neshaminy goalie on the other side, i think he may have fallen. V. Masnationio had a very nice breakaway and looked like he was going to score a goal but hte Neahaminy goalie stopped him right on the door step.

danglesaurusrex, scores do not tell the story about a team at all. conestoga outshot them 2-1 yesterday and im pretty sure most would agree that they were the better team in that game and neshaminy also beat the number 3 seed pennsbury earlier in the season, so dont make them out to be such an offel team. also if you recall that the last time conestoga had their full roster was their 7-6 win against haverford in december, one of only 2 times haverford lost all year. currently they are w/o their best forward rich masciantonio who is a huge attribute to the team. i have never seen pennridge play so maybe they will blow out conestoga but all im saying is that with all they have went through i think conestoga well deserved a higher seed.

0-0 entering the third....Pennsbury scored twice in the first minute of the third period. Both Goalies played great.

Dangle,
With #23 record was 10-1-1 Loss was to Malvern AAA team.
Without #23 record stands at 2-3-2.
Yes, they deserved and worked hard for that fourth seed.
The Stoga team that beat Haverford poured their entire souls into that game EVERY player! That is the last game they played with a full roster.
I have never seen either team play that they may face. Are they better? No clue.
What I do know is Stoga will lace them up and not give up without a fight.
They have suffered injuries and surgeries like every other team but the kids continue to work hard as does every other team in their current situation.
Stoga has not made it this far in seven years so we are proud of the ENTIRE team for the great team effort and the way they support one another on and off the ice, win or lose Tuesday. There will always be a better team out there for any hockey club to face as an opponent.
Wouldn't you agreee seeding this number of teams can't be an easy task.

Matt, quick question. Players thrown out for fighting in their previous league's last game or playoff game, are they still eligible to play in Flyers Cup w/o serving any kind of suspension?

Formerly: No the rule is that you must serve the suspension in your next USA hockey game i think. Since flyers cup is a USA hckey event the player wil not be able to play
So if the player got a 1 game suspension and they haven't played a game since thier misconduct they will not be able to play in their next game. Two games the next two games and so on. I also think leagues have specefic rules that you must serve them in your next high school game. So a player that gets suspended on a friday night in a HS game cannot serve his suspension in a club game and be able to play in his next HS game.

Hkymom is right, Stoga isn't a one man show, Rich was their strongest player but it doesn't mean he was thier whole team, they didn't squeak by Neshaminay they controlled most of the game. They have a capable team who could have been seeded anywhere in the 2-5 seed, Pennridge should come ready to play. The central league an the ICSHL has a great flyers cup history as you could see with Garnet Valley #19 seed showed Shawnee #3 Seed. Even without Rich, Vince is a very capable player with great speed and good hands. Conestoga also isn't afraid to throw thier bodies around so Pennridge needs to be ready for a tough game.

All that being said. I have heard good things about Pennridge and seen them play once this year and they looked sharp, they are not slouches and are deserving of thier #5 seed, i excpet a good game at Iceline on Tuesday night.
