Lasalle should win it. They not only played together for HS, but I believe either the whole team or most of it, competed in the AYHL under the VF Minutemen name, a AAA schedule. The came in 3rd in that league behind 2 teams that went to nationals last year, Team Comcast as a Bantam Major team and the NJ Devils as a Midget Minor team.
lasalle is probably the best high school TEAM ive seen in the last 5 years. they had an incredible season, and are the undeniable favorites. they play mistake free hockey, and are strong defensively. however, they can be beaten. for that to happen, pyne will have to be off his game, and offensively they have to be have to not click. with this team, i dont see them allowing more then 3 goals. you have to get shots against them, and goalies have to cover the puck at the right times. theyre all over rebounds, so if you can slow them down in that aspect, you can have success. if you can keep the shots close, youll be in the game, if they outshoot you by 10-15, your done.
by the way. lasalle aaa has 5 kids that dont play vfmm u-16. the rest of lasalle aaa is made up of kids on the vfmm u-16s, but not all of the vfmm u-16s are on lasalle aaa but all except 1 go to lasalle, if that makes sense.
they bring a couple of kids back and forth from the gold team, but none from the blue team. they also play a few freshmen, none of whom are on the vfmm u-16s.
There are players on LaSalle's AAA that are older than 16, so they obviously could not play for VFMM U16 National team. They have other players on the Gold and AAA team that play for other AAA club teams as well (Little Flyers, VFMM U16 American, Mercer Chiefs, NJ Av's and JR Flyers U18), It's impressive the number of boys that can handle the academics of LaSalle, and have the time and dedication to play for two high level hockey teams.
