just a little added information for the conversation: those lasalle kids, with the addition of 5 local high school players just took third in AAA midget major nationals, losing only to the two finalists. pa area hockey i know is not the hotbed for hockey however this year they obviously can play with anyone in the nation. ps. the prep all star team lost in the quarterfinals.

Congratulations to Wally and a tremendous season for both of his teams. They earned it.

There is no better time than now for the powers to be to bring this attention to the forefront.

Why not ask the Flyers next season to mention high school hockey during an intermission? Or ask them to have a "Game of the Week?" Or ask them to recap the high school standings? The Eagles, Sixers and Phillies never mention high school sports.

I remember back in the early 80's they used to do a segment called the "Pepsi Shootout" between local high school players and broadcast it between periods. That was how I learned that my high school had a team and got me motivated to start playing.
