Pv didnt have their starting goalie charlie johnson, they had to start they JV goalie and this is his second year playing ice hockey...the game was basically a joke because no1 tried..you cant count that into how good henderson is, i think if both teams played with all of their players it would be a much better game then 9-2
Look this happnes every year when a team loses when they think they shoudnd't, its always "no one cares or no one tries" All that matters is they played the game and they won, had PV have played with thier starting goalies and players that "cared" would it have been closer maybe, but it wasn't it was 9-2
so as of right now Henderson is better then PV..
Excuses or not Henderson won.

It was a scrimmage game, not a league game, it doesn't show up on the ICSHL schedule and it doesn't count in the standings. Therefore, it won't matter when it comes down to the rankings.

Question for ilovehockey-- Not positive but the ICSHL website shows Kennett with 5 games played and Tim McGarry (Kennett's top and one of the area's best players / defencemen) having played in their first 4 games. So it appears as if he didn't play against Henderson. Do you think he may have made a difference in that game that Kennett was "lucky" to tie??
Let's not go overboard. This is the most wide open things have been in ("A") in a while. Not one team has played head and shoulders above all the others (against stiff competition) on a consistent enough basis to be declared "the best"
You said that Henderson beat PV 9-2? This must have been a scrimmage or something right?
Anyway, yes, some people may have overlooked Henderson, but its not becuase they arent a good team and havent been playing well. W.C. East get more attention than Henderson a lot, and Rustin's great start had many people focused on them. Also Kennet is a perennial contender in that division. If Henderson keeps playing at a high level, they will get their recognition. (Which I think they got in breakaway magazine, maybe just not in the forum top 10.)
For clarification...we did scrimmage Henderson on Wednesday during our practice slot and Henderson did beat us 9-2. Henderson may have been missing players too, but Latta, Cottle,Beren, and Blaker were all there, as well as their starting goaltender, Rob Mattern. I don't want to make any excuses because there was a lack of effort in our play, but we were without Charlie Johnson, Matt DeLuca, and James McCauley who are all undoubtedly huge parts of our team. Henderson did not see the same Perkiomen Valley Ice Hockey team as the rest of our opponents have seen in the past games.

Just for conversation purpose, it's still early. Some teams go in a funk after the holiday break while others tend to pick it up. I see at least 4 good teams in each division for some good FC final 4 games.

Just remember, The Rankings in the current issue of Breakaway are based on games played up until the last day of November. I am not predicting the future when making the rankings.....just basing them on the past.

i have a question..i grabbed the breakaway magazine at the skatezone in pennsauken and the version i saw didnt have the high school standings?..ill be at iceline today are the rankings gonna be there?
Justin--there are 2 magazines: "Breakaway!" does club, juniors, etc. "Breakaway! Scholastic" is the new high school magazine--look for a Bayard Rustin picture on the latest cover; it has the Top 10 lists. The new magazine is sponsored by the high school leagues working through the Flyers Cup Committee.
Jim (Britt)--be gentle, remember these guys are going to be paying for our Social Security.

I'm sorry - I can't help it. I know that we pretty much ignore spelling on this site but both Bad Johnny & Matt Sacks used parody - and I had to laugh when I saw it. A parody is a humorous satire or imitation of something.
I know you both meant parity - the teams are at an equal competitive level.
