I agree with your teams at AAA and A for now. I will say watch out for Kennett at the A level though. They are possibly the best team in that Varsity South division (which like the Central league has AA teams as well as A teams). Perk Valley's big issue is going to be how they do come playoff time, since they're going to sleepwalk through their league play. As far as AA is concerned, I'd have to say Haverford is the team at the moment. However, Conestoga could be a contender as well. Bayard Rustin also looks pretty solid as well. Granted these are predominantly ICSHL and Eastern teams (my wife limits me on how much hockey I can go see), and I'm not sure what there are in the LB, Suburban and Lancaster leagues, as well as NJ areas.
Is that right? How did they manage that? Are they really that small, or was it the fact that they control the ICSHL that allow them to play at that level? I suppose if they let the D'towns to move down a designation when they split, they had to do it for the WC teams. However, if I'm not mistaken, when D'town split into East and West, they were moving down from AAA to AA, not AA to A. In any case, that would make Rustin a very formidable team at the A level. Henderson has the most offensive talent of those three, but their defense is questionable. East looks to be picking it up as of late, but they've been shaky at times, particularly in net.
Rustin is doing great so far- considering that they don't have a senior class. Kennett will be tough to beat, but the whole south division will be competitive.
I agree LaSalle looks like the favorite at AAA right now. However, I wouldnt forget about O'Hara just yet. They have still been pretty strong despite thier loss. Holy Ghost could be a dark horse at the AAA level as well.
In AA i havent seen much but Haverford has been pretty good so far. They beat up on their own division and beat some tough central league teams. They beat AAA St. Joes prep too. I also like Wash. Twp. at AA. Conestoga could be dark horse, watch out for the Stoga vs. Haverford High game coming up.
A is a tough choice, Perk Valley seems to be the favorite now, but they still have a lot to prove. So does Rustin. However, both of these teams are off to great start. I wouldnt be suprised however, if another central league team wins it for the 6th straight year.
Henderson is making the decision of either going AA or A they are still undecided. On the other hand, you have to have Henderson as a threat with one of the most dynamic lines in the area. Just on wednesday Henderson beat PV 9-2. PV was missing players as well as Henderson. Tonight, Henderson tied Kennett after giving up a fluke goal with a minute and a half left in the third. Henderson was ahead the whole game.
