I believe you...sometimes i wonder if the refs are even watching the same games because some of the missed calls or bad calls are obvious to everyone else watching the game
About the Marple call, its not as if it was an obvious made up call, it could be seen as a trip I just think it was a very weak call, not "the worst" call ever though.

The Henderso/East was a great high school hockey game. Great point though on East's run on Mattern and the scrum that followed. No way should those penalties have been evened up.....Henderson should have had a least a 5 on 4 and the 10 minute misconduct to Cottle was a joke. Sounds like questionable refereeing was the theme of the night.
Also to say Mattern didn't play as well in this years Flyer's Cup as last year is somewhat unfair....the score didn't suggest it but he had an outstanding game the other night against Kennett and quite honestly didn't get a whole lot of help tonight. Henderson played terrible in their own end tonight.
I wasn't saying he hasn't played good this year/ tonight but he elevated his play last year during the flyers cup and won that Kennett game for them. I am not saying that Mattern lost the game for them tonight at all, i am saying his play was better in the FC final last year which led to the win.
The 3rd period Henderson ran their 1st line dry and i thought at the 1:30 mark they should have sat that 1st line for atleast 30 seconds so they would be fresh for the last minute.

it was a very exciting night at ice line.. i just want to say good job to marple who played outstanding. For a team who was missing one of their leading scorers and a top defensmen, they played extremly well and had the lead for most of the third period. A lot of the calls seemed very ridiculous. I think if ur going to be strict and throw someone out for a hit that could of easily been just a 2 and a 10 you should be calling it both ways. A marple kid was 2 handed badly behind the play (iv seen it called as a match penalty in many club games) and only got a 2 and a 10 after a marple kid had already been thrown out for a boarding call. The tripping call at the end of the third was also very questionable and that ended up being the difference maker. All in all good game marple. Many people, including myself, thought marple had no chance and they proved me wrong.
durbano had the first 2 for marple (i missed the first but saw the second goal which was a breakaway) monteith, christie, ziegler, and nicholson scored for perk and kevin wels had marples last goal
Ha-ha Mattern got drilled he deff didn’t move into the hit at all. That kid should have gotten a game misconduct for intent to injure. You can’t full out run a goalie with a shot to his head and continue the game. The refs where really bad in this game especially sitting Cottle for 10 and missing an obvious knee on him in the last period but when it comes down to it East won it with a lot of good effort. Both teams played great and so did both goalies (Outside of the 3rd goal on Donzetti) but after Latta made an amazing move and hit the crossbar with about a min thirty left you could see it just wasn’t Henderson’s night.
I do have to say with that post early about East having the best fans I was very disappointed in them tonight. They showed absolutely no class after a good win by there team. They even stood outside the hallway and screamed at Henderson players who where upset after the game. They did it so bad that there head coach actually came out and yelled at them. It was disgraceful.
East’s team and coaches, class acts (Minus the kid who ran Mattern)
East Fans, disgraceful.
Good luck to East, I fully expect them to win especially with having gotten in PVs head already.

Perk. Valley dodged a bullet tonight at IceLine. Marple played a very good game. PV got 50 or so shots on goal, but most were right into the Marple goaltender's gut, as he was in good position all night. Sutherland for PV, who has only had one or two weak games this season for PV, didn't have his "A" game with him tonight. But his team scored twice when they had to and that was the difference. With respect to the game misconduct given to the Marple player, it happened right in front of me and I think it was the proper call. The Marple player had just gotten mixed up with the PV player at the top of the circle on the boards. He had gotten the worst of the pretty physical exchange there, and when the PV player broke free and went into the corner to get the puck, the Marple skater took off after him like a heat-seeking missle and simply slammed the PV player into the boards from behind. What I saw was a clear intent to injure. I'm sure it was only momentary, but, at the cricial moment, that was the intent.
We were standing real close then...So wouldn't you say the 2 hand behind the play on D'urbano was intent to injure as well then. I thought they both deserved a 2 and 10.

I stayed at rink three until the conclussion of the HGP - Malvern game and then hustled over to rink one. As I walked in the players were all going at it by the East Bench, but I missed the hit by seconds.
