Are you kidding me? I am new to the board and played at La Salle in the late 80's, early 90's under Peter Nolan - just as we were starting to get good. But I do follow HS Hockey, and their schedule this year is ridiculous. St. Mary's, Wyoming Seminary, Delbarton (tomorrow night, and I'll be there), St. Augustine, Lawrenceville, not to mention the Mt. St. Charles, Meadville, and Trinity Pawling tournaments. How much longer do you think they'll continue to play in the HS division in SE PA before they jump to the Prep league?

LaSalle is not likely to keep playing at this high a level. The current junior class is large and strong, the senior class as well. The last two classes were smaller, to the point where LaSalle dropped down from 4 to 3 teams this year. There are a couple of seniors on JV, which normally you wouldn't have but there weren't enough underclassmen to fill out the team. So this year and next they'll be able to compete at a very high level, beyond that it will depend on the incoming classes. Without sports scholarships and with the influx of junior teams drawing off talent, it would be hard to sustain.

Probably never. What would be the benefit? They can make their own schedule now against whatever teams they want, and still play in the Flyers Cup playoffs.

I agree. Its an abberration that they have this strong of a junior class (especially considering gigliotti doesnt play anymore). The seniors are good, and the sophomores are good, but neither are nearly as deep as the junior class, and the junior class probably has the best upper level talent too. i understand that the current freshman class is weak too, with really only 1 high end player. The next 2 years are Lasalle's window to win the Flyers Cup, after that, they will undoubtedly have a strong team, I just dont think this strong.
