This is easily the surprise of the tournament at all levels so far.

Im really surprised they went down this early. It seems like all their guys played too.

Any details on this game? They rolled through everyone in AA this year, and lose to Twp in the 2nd round? What happened?

"A post-game incident resulted in the Falcons receiving five match penalties — four to Bria's assistant coaches and one to a Pennsbury player. Efforts to contact Bria and Flyers Cup officials after the game for comment were unsuccessful."

Details?

Trimback,

The scoresheet is posted at flyerscup.org and does not show those penalties:

trim,

you pull that from a newspaper article?
I'd be suprised a reporter got a match penalty call accurate.

edit: doesn't look like the penalties were lopsided

Again...Dicky Dunn would have got it right. Then again, it was a football guy writing a hockey story.

Bria said "..when the officials become bigger than the game, I've got a problem with that."

Not sure why everyone counted Township out. Sure Pennsbury was a higher ranked team, but the Minutemen did win it last year.

Yea, I'm with the hugger. He got a quote from Bria after the game yet didn't ask him about the penalties at the end. Interesting.

Penalties were 7-6 in favor of Township. Just one off on being all "Fox News" on it.

How come officials can't complain in the paper about inconsistancy on the penalty kill?

If any of your saw the article in this a.m.'s Courier the reporter has some bad info. There was a correction made to the score sheet after he left that shows 1 match penalty and 2 game misconducts for each of the Asst coaches from Pennsbury.

The Township team this year is a far cry from last year's - 10 seniors graduated from last year's SJ championship team, so I certainly can understand how Twp winning would be a surprise. It just goes to show how strong a program they have, to always be a perennial top team, even in a "down" year.

A Township player told a Pennsbury coach "That's the best game we played all year"....just goes to show ya, anything can happen in a one game elimination tourney.

referees didn't lose the game for us. bottom line is no one played well for us tonight. from the goal line on out. colin fafara who has been great this year played his worst game of the season last night. the offense didn't do to much either. yes we scored 7 goals but when you have arguably the best line in the area and constantly shoot it right into the WT goalies chest, you are not going to score. team defense was awful. a few of the goals scored on fafara were off guys standing back door all alone with no defenseman around to pick them up. stupid penalties hurt us too. WT did play a hell of a game knowing that they had nothing to lose, but WT didn't beat us. WE BEAT OURSELVES

pennsbury player,

You can come play for me any day. Here's a kid that takes responsibility and is a leader, which is rare with all the Kool Aid drinking excuse makers out there. Pennsbury had a great season and unfortunately did not survive the 1st game. Still a pretty good team

Can we go back to the match penalties, where they given based on what the coaches said to the reffs after the game about inconsistancy or was there something else?
