Trimback, Newman WAS on my list, but because of the injury and the fact that he would be out for the rest of the season, I decided to give someone else the recognition. Newman was on the top 25 list last year.

I never attacked you for your opinion....that is what this furom is for. When you said I had no credibility and the list was bogus is when I became defensive and offered up the position to you for next year....btw, that's a sincere offer.

I watched Bonner play at least 3 times this season and there is not one player playing below a AA High School level let alone AAA High School. They have a nice team with some hard working players which makes them a good team. But they don't have any AAA Stars playing below their ability.

first, I never called you a fool.
second....why does it bother me? Maybe because this is my site, that I pay for, that I maintain, that I monitor, that I allow you to be a part of.... B)I spend countless hours of my spare time providing a service for PA Hockey....at no charge, that causes someone to question my credibility on the site that I provide for them.....irks me a little.

I have no problem that your opinion differs from mine, I have no problem that you post your list.....I do have a problem when someone questions my credibility after I've devoted the last eight years of my life to High School hockey because they disagree with the players that have been selected to a top 25 list.

As soon as you say "your son" you lose all credibility. You obviously have a biased towards him, as you should, he's your son! Nothing wrong with that as we all want the best for our children, but don't rip Matt or anynoe else if they have an OPINION about your son's or anyone else's game. Wrong, Right or Whatever!! It's an opinion!!!

Relax, take a deep breath, and enjoy watching your son play the greatest game on earth!!

First I would have to include Cole Ikkala (D-Town East), Taylor Lockhart (Council Rock North) and Steve Boraske (Ridley) on any top 25 list I compiled. However, I would not question someone’s reputation because he disagrees with me. For instance I think Jigga Beef is a bit of knucklehead, but he seems like a great guy. He just loves the ICSHL and rates their players blindly over good players in other leagues. That’s fine with me, it’s his opinion.

Now Matthew, I have grave concerns that you are arguing with some Cat over how much hockey you watch a week. I think we need to put an end to this argument and you, me, Big Jim, Koolaid Drinker, Jigga Beef and Rick (well maybe not Rick) need to visit a certain Gentleman’s Club on Delaware Ave. and compile a list of the top 25 dancers (you know how much I want to use the Str****r word). Now that would be a list that would be fun to compile. Let’s hear it for the girls!

hahahaha knucklehead i love it. Top Cat we've been talking about going to the club for over a year now and its never happened, now who is the knuckle head.

I only get to see ICSHL games, but i have only seen guys like Ryan Gannon, Ian Barnes, Matt Hughes, Robby McDrye, and A.J Moyer maybe once. But they would all be on "my" list, which may only differ from matts by one or two people.

Thanks Matt for the Eastern Pa Top 25

While many of you are entitled to your opinion about the Top 25 I challenge all to see as many players in Eastern Pa that Matt does, therefore this qualifies him to do the job !

What would the folks in Eastern Pa think about a top 25 Game between Eastern and Western Pa prior to the Pennsylvania State Championship the night before. Pa Hockey would host it and I think it would be a great way to get more people to the States

Honestly, why would you attack the credibility of the man that watches more high school hockey then anybody this side of Harrisburg. If not for matt sacks there would be no list, no magazine, website, and message board. This isn't Matt's first year doing this, so it's not like he doesn't know what's going on. He's been doing this for far longer then 4 years which is how long I'm guessing you've been watching high school hockey. The fact is most people agree with matt's picks (for the most part) and if they disagree they are able say something without questioning his credibility. Another this if the list carries no weight, why argue about it? He's offered the job to you if you think you would be more qualified, but you wouldn't because you wouldn't put the time and effort that he does into it. So unless your going to show him up and pick the "perfect" Top 25, how about you just state your opinion without attacking the man that most would consider the most knowledgeable fan of Eastern PA high school hockey.

You know whats sad, ( And I don't think Matt/Host of this site needs somebody to defend them). There are very few people who take the time to give youth hockey any attention. For the most part you have Breakaway and Chuck Smith who even he compared his situation to the HBO Show the Wire ( Basically HS Hockey is the least priority at the Daily Times who is reducing their staff). I know there is a few other papers in Eastern PA that throw in tidbits here and there but when push comes to shove they are the main media source.

I agree any comments (Especially in a Forum) are open for criticism but when you want to beat a dead horse over and over again for something so petty you make guys like Matt and Chuck want to say the hell with it. If I was in their shoes I would say, "The heck with wacco hockey parents, I'm gonna cover HS Bowling or Golf". Neither Matt or Chuck make a living covering Youth Hockey. It's very clear this seems to be more of a passion or hobby that is welcomed by the participants. With that being said, If you disagree with something they post, go ahead and voice your opinion but don't push the issue so hard that you make yourself look like a fool.
Trimback, I think everybody will agree there could have been a few more names added or deleted from the list. But some of your posts really make you and Bonner look bad. The kids that were on the list obviously caught somebodys eye either in games or on a stat board. Kids who felt they should have been on the list should not depend on somebody to speak up for them, they should try to work even harder to get noticed not only for themselves but most importantly for their team. Some players may make the list and some won't.

Look at is this way, historically athletes who get a lot of attention sometimes bomb out in playoffs and important games which opens the door for ( In this case players who didn't make the list) other players to step up and make a name for themselves. The message we need to send to all young athletes is, " Enjoy what you are doing, work hard and do the best you can". I really don't think kids are playing ice hockey week in and week out just to make the top player list on Breakaway Magazine?

Your comments to a degree are a reflection on Bonner and can become a distraction to them. As a 3rd party reading your post ( No disrespect intended ), if my son played on Bonner I would stay far away from you at these games because you come off to be a trouble maker?
Again I don't know you and this is looking at it from and outsiders perspective based on your posts.

I did a little research too - your kid was credited with an assist in the third period on the 11th goal scored in a 12-2 drubbing of Upper Darby in December. Is he only physically at risk in games his team is getting blown out in?

I think this is a great idea. The biggest problem might be that some of the players in the game you propose might have to play in a championship the next day. I can't imagine this would sit too well with their coaches.

I think it would be a very interesting game, and I hope you pull it together.
