Personally I'm going with Matt on this one. His passion is high school hockey and the rational so far has been spot on. I do believe that he considered many of the players who have been mentioned as being "missed" He caught players from the CPIHL who are deserving, which I think is a pretty good catch as these players could have easily been overlooked by someone less thorough. And while every top list is one man’s judgment, I think he has both the credibility and the aptitude to make them.

#1 I said from the begining that it is only my opinion
#2 If my opinion carries no weight, I think you are wasting your time reading breakaway...again, that is just MY opinion.
#3 Next week I'll make a list of La Salle's top 10 players, maybe then I can satisfy your obvious bias towards that program.
#4 complain on the PA hockey website, this is THERE list, I only assist with it. If I dont do it, the top 25 will consist of the top three scorers taken off the league's website.

Sorry if the list is bogus, next time I will be sure to put your son on there. Please show me were +/- stats are available, I would love to incorporate them into next seasons list.

I only go by stat sheets? You ask any league president how many nights a week I attend High School hockey games. Let me know when you get your answer, I'm curious.

That's a great solution....I/Breakaway cover about 150 teams, I don't see every team play all 18 games on their schedule. So you feel I should take the plus minus of the 2-3 games per team that I see and go only by that?

You also said that you agreed with most of my forward picks, just not those two....so why would the picks carry "no weight" if you agreed with 15 of the 17 forwards?

Not for nothing but Haeberle from Haverford had 40pts not county the six he racked up tonight with five games still remaining. Not a bad days work and he could be pushing 70pts by the time its all over. I looked on the different websites and didn't see many players even close to that. Don't know what his +/- is?
It looks like he is carrying his team and don't have much help?

Sir, I will gladly give you're email address to Jeff Mauro and PAHockey and you can compile the list for next season. Just make sure you get to Harrisburg and the Lehigh Valley as well so that you can give those kids a fair shake.

Remember that 85% of the list will be no brainers....the other 15% will rely on your opinion....and if some hockey dad doesnt agree with your opinion he will try to make you feel shame.

Trimback lets say Matt does keep the +/- of the game he's at. That means he has them for that game only. He can't attend every teams every game so he couldn't possibly keep an accurate list. But clearly you CAN do that, so why don't you keep a +/- on every player and email it to matt.

As for it "only being high school hockey in PA". If you're sons too good for it, why is he playing in the first place? Let me know what round he goes in the next Junior or NHL entry draft?

Don't come on this board complaining how Matt does things, its okay to disagree with the list but its far from bogus, Matt sees more high school games in Eastern PA than anybody and spreads it out between the leagues. Every year he picks a very good all breakaway team.

I've sent emails to coaches and league officials over the past 7 years for their input in the Breakaway all-star teams at the end of the year....guess what the level of response was in the past??? Between 20 and 30%

Thank you for telling me how you would do it....I will get you the email address of EVERY organization in Eastern/Central pa hockey and you let me know how that works out for you.....easier said than done! I can't even get rosters from some of these coaches for the Flyers Cup Program, and that's with 30 days advance notice.

because talking to a coach after the first game of the season and talking to a coach at the end of the season are two different animals.....players grow over the course of the season and I want everyones opinion at the end of the season not after week 2. I may see Bonner play during week one of the season and not again until Flyers Cup, so what happened in week one, might not be an accurate reflection of who the best players are. That's why I don't do pre-season rankings or players to watch anymore. I do the All-Breakaway teams at the end of the year. The top 25 is not a Breakaway endeavor.....it is PA Hockey's. They are friends of mine so I try to help them out. If you feel someone else is better qualified to do the list, I will gladly step aside, I don't have an ego.

I think I have seen it all now? Matt, you should start ranking players based on who's parents are willing to pay the most to get their kid 2 minutes of fame. Then nobody can dispute your methods. You can sit back and say " Sold to the highest Bidder "!!

( Just trying to add some humor )

Trim, i did not mean for that to be a knock at your son, just don't put down the level he is playing in.

As for Matt, he has earned the respect of most of those who watch high school hockey, keep in mind that changes every year because the kids graduate and such. He doesn't do these lists all on his own, i know for a fact he consults with others and takes other people he has deemed a responsible source into account.

Obvi, not everyone is going to agree with his picks, I think its Carl that always says picking an all breakaway team is a great way to make 20 friends and 50 enemies. So i think if you have a problem with a player on the list, say who and than say who you think should replace him and why.

On the note of Pat Hayden. I have seen Hayden alot this season and he is a very offensive minded D-man, but when it counts he makes alot of good plays on D, and is one of the best hitters in the ICSHL, i am not sure if he is a top 6 D man, but he is good enough to be considered.

Feedback??? Let's refresh our memories a bit here shall we?

throw all credibility of this list away....

your opinion and carrys no weight except some bogus list.

Sir whether you believe it or not you attacked Matt's character and in doing so you did a real nice job of revealing your's. There is a philosphy I think you ought to take a look at and it goes "better to keep your mouth shut and let people assume you are a fool then for you to open it and remove all doubt." Well there is no doubt anymore buddy.
