Roman beats Pennsbury 2-0

HGP beats Judge 3-0

Any thoughts on who will win the finals, or any comments on any of the games last night?

I know what your thoughts are.....Posted by you on 2-11 on another thread " At this point I don't think Roman is much of a threat. They have fallen apart the second half of the year". Guess we know what your prediction is.

I missed the first game last night, saw the second one. Ghost pretty much dominated the game, though the shots were 24-24 but I dont think that they were really that close. While Judge didn't have that many solid scoring chances (a lot of side angle shots- no rebound etc) there were pockets in the game when they could have scored but didnt take advantage. In general though, the puck was in the Judge end a lot.

An interesting side note included one of these times when they finally got some production, a spectator ran out on the ice (first time I've ever seen this in my life- and it turns out that the kid doesnt even go to either of the schools in question).

The bottom line is that Ghost has come on strong in the second half of the season and gave a young Judge squad more than they could handle. Judge's game plan was to shut down Seravalli, and it worked to an extent, but they failed to put the puck in the net.

As far as Roman, they are unpredictable. They got beat by Judge 2 weeks ago, and then smoked Ryan. They looked good against Ryan and it looked like the Judge loss woke them up. They're fast and talented, but not very deep. I think a 3 game series favors Ghost.

Reality101, as much as HGP fan is probably the biggest homer on this board (short of the kid who keeps talking about WC East), you have to give him credit. Ghost is good, and is definitely favored in this series. You can't argue with the propaganda when the team keeps backing it up by winning. Though a Roman victory would be funny after that bold statement, I don't foresee it. Plus, when the AAAFC starts, Ghost has a nice route to the final.

In the middle of the game, a high school kid got on the ice somehow, not sure if he jumped over the glass or snuck onto the ice through the door, but he was running and falling all over the ice until the refs basically escorted him off.

It was actually pretty funny. Ive seen it happen at baseball games, but Ive never heard of it or saw it at a hockey game.

Place was packed too, so it looked like alot of people got a good laugh.

Haha thats awsome. I remeber one jv game where a parent came on the ice and tried to fight a ref because the ref through his kid off the pile in a fight.

Ahh I just remembered the worst though. I was playing jv i think i was in 8th grade and this kid got kicked out of the game for starting a fight. Than there where several other fights and eventually the game ended and we where all sitting around our bench and the kid came back on the ice without equipment and pushed our goalie from behind in the middle of our entire team. Let me tell you that kid recieved one of the worst a*@ beatings ive ever seen haha, he was probaly 16-17 and he left the ice crying.

What happened to Roman? I heard Ghost's offense went wild in the second period. Good goaltending on HGP's part? I couldn't listen in to the broadcast, does anyone know when it is going to be in the archives?

The game was back and fourth for the first period. Both teams had good chances, and it looked pretty even.

In the second period, once HGP got moving, the flood gates opened. Roman has 1 line, and Burns and Murphy did a great job against them, and forwards Corcoran, Bradley and Hoffman were matched against that line and played them very tough, and maintained puck possession the majority of the times they were matched against each other. This line played great defense, and they are also very skilled so they created alot of pressure at the same time keeping the puck away from McStravick and McGrath.

Roman definitely had chances all game. Nick Seravalli had 4 goals, 2 of them were flat out nasty.

Game was very physical and fun to watch. I would expect the same tomorrow. Im assuming Roman is the home team tomorrow, so it will be interesting to see what happens with the line match ups.

Refs made this one interesting. 3 straight 5 on 3's for Roman in a 6 minute span. Dont see that too often, a few were marginal calls too.
