I would like to see the Suburban League on the icshl website too. I feel that the icshl is the most reliable and user friendly out of all the sites, so it would just make sense to put everything there.

Lower Merion should not be allowed to play if they are unpure.

Salesianum should be in the Private II division, and nowhere else. I dont know why they would be put anywhere else.

Neumann-Gorretti, no varsity? Maybe theyre playing South Jersey again? Again, if they are, makes no sense to me.

I dont know why "V2" teams would want to play in the Private II division. The JV AAA league is going to be very competetive. I would assume the bottom teams in the JV division will be better then the top teams in Private II. If this stays the way it is, in a few years the JV AAA division will be better then alot of the varsity divisions in the area.

I heard a rumor that Bonner and OHara JV teams didnt enter the JV AAA league. Is this true?

I've tried to stay off here for the summer, but we're getting close to posting the schedules anyway, so here's some comments on your post:

* Lower Merion is supposed to be pure this year (at the varsity level).

* Salesianum is in the Ches-Mont South to balance the numbers in the playing Division, and because their home ice (Pond, Newark,DE) works for other Ches-Mont South teams: Avon Grove,Kennett, Unionville. The school is a DIAA member, the team is officially sanctioned by the school and run by their AD who assures me they intend to follow all the "rules". Think of them as another Shanahan (long-time PIAA member), who are also in the Ches-Mont. Salesianum (and the other Delaware HS) have a long tradition of playing PA schools next door. Avon Grove has a Delaware school for their Homecoming football game--I know, I got asked for a "blackout date" because of it.

* Interboro (I call them my "orphan of the storm")doesn't have a good hockey "home"; they are not in the Ches-Mont or the Central, nor do any other members of their DelVal League play hockey (Chester is a hell of a basketball program, though). Interboro gets a Delco-friendly schedule, playing 1 game against each Central team (I have to give them a Ridley game in any case--its a tradition) except Conestoga, and then they crossover with Private II's and other public teams.

* Neumann-Goretti is playing ICSHL JV A this year. They really weren't ready for prime time last year.

* O'Hara is in the JV AAA, Bonner is not--in deference to their perceived strength at JV.

* I've solicited Conwell-Egan's participation in the JV AAA to replace Bonner, but they turned it down.

The Suburban American ("A schools") all play home-home with Lansdale Catholic and Bishop McDevitt. AB Wood plays all the Suburban One AA schools once, plus their Private II schedule.

I will post a message here when I put my Team Calendars up on the ICSHL web site. I can probably include the SHSHL varsities, too, since I've got their schedules loaded to help with crossover scheduling. So obviously, nothing been getting done so far this summer...

Thanks, Carl.

It would be great to have all the Suburban teams on the icshl site, with all their stats too.

Everything looks great, and its a great start to getting everything on the same wavelength.

What are both CEC and North Catholic doing this year? Are they just going to have lower level unpure JV teams?

1 O'Hara
2 St Joe Prep
3 Malvern
4 Roman Catholic
5 La Salle
6 Father Judge
7 Ryan
8 HG Prep

Original lineup for JV-AAA was 9 teams, 2x=16 games. With Bonner out, I've added "geographically convenient" 3rd games home/away to fill out the 16-game schedules. You can see why getting back a 9th team (CEC) would have been helpful.

Because you would get to play those Varsities and the those JVAAAs (V2s) as well AND get a Varsity letter (for playing a Varsity schedule).

Because they did last year when the JVAAAs were V2s.

If your so concerned about getting a varsity letter, how about you put in the necessary practice time and make the varsity. Dont take the easy way out and get a letter for playing on the V2.

Its a moot point, there are no varsity 2 teams in hockey anymore, just like every other sport.

I feel comfortable saying that most of the teams that make up the Private league would not play the JVAAA or whatever moniker you want to give them.

I really get tired of people whining about eligibility. The PIAA had a great rule on the table which passed two readings with the Board of Control and then was defeated by the coalition of Catholic schools from Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

The rule essentially had every athlete who transfers after the 9th grade ineligible for Varsity Competition for one year unless they physically change residence. The athlete would be eligible for B COmpetition [Junior Varsity or Middle School] to allow the athlete to participate in the sport.

This takes away the intent of someone transferring for athletic purposes and places it where it should be for academic or other purpose. The State of Minnesota High School has used this rule for 20 years and it eliminates all of the BS with transfers.

Sun Valley will play 11 games at Iceworks in Aston--8 Ches-Mont Division home games, an "away" crossover game at Interboro, and a home crossover game there against Carroll. They'll play 7 Ches-Mont road games at IceLine and one Ches-Mont road game against Salesianum down at the Pond. Your team managers have known this for a while.
