Defensive forward isn't even close. Moyer from Pennridge plays both ends. Being a D-man on Jr. Flyers doesn't make you a defensive forward.

Durbano from Marple could be a contender for defensive forward. He is one of the best penalty killer/backcheckers I have seen in the Eastern and Inter-County. His partner in club hockey does well to but if I mentioned that name it would be a conflict of intrust.. (Not taking anything away from Moyer, I never seen him play, I know that it a nice team).

Jim Hazelton

He is correct in Durbano is one hell of a defensive forward, Ive played with him in club, and he does a fabulous job against the top line on each team. Also, Since big jim cant say it, I will. Jimmy Hazelton from Haverford High also is one of the best defensive forwards in the game. He doesnt get the credit liek Haeberle and Campli, but he goes up agaisnt every teams top line every game and he not only back checks and kills penalties but he really phsycial. Playing against him takes its toll physically on the the other teams top players.

Couple of forwards at LaSalle should be mentioned. Zoldy and Denzi are excellent at both ends and never stop skating and backchecking.

not the #2 goalie by far, how does a #2 goalie allow 2 goals in the last 45 seconds against Conestoga, one of HH biggest games of the year.

pyne is probably the goalie of the year

mcgarry is the best defenseman, without question

top forward would be between soroka and berkle i would think.

i couldnt believe how much berkle improved from last season till this season. i dont know what he did but it worked. he was always a solid player without question, but there have been many games this year where he has been dominant. great first step and rocket shot.

why does the player of the year always have to go to some AAA private school player? Why can't it be a AA or even A player because there is no such thing as the AAA AA or A league anymore. Granted, the "AAA" teams do play a tougher scheudle than the AA and A teams. Personally, from what I have seen and who I played with/against the player of the year could be a few AA or A players for example, Campli, Haberle, Coll, Mascintonio, or Mansur who played on a losing team and still lead the ICNorth in points

No doubt Lasalle goalie as goalie of the year and McGarry as defensmen of the year but player of the year should be given to a player in AA or A

its went to Brian O'neil last year because he was hands down the best player in del-val

John and Chris Brennan from radnor have both received the award..

private schools tend do have the better players sometimes due to luck but sometimes due to the "free agent" signing peroid

I would recommend Paul Gray from Shawnee as the goalie of the year. He came in new to the program and provided leadership to a young team, kept them in the early games as the team jelled and remained strong throughout the season. Shawnee would not be in the SJ championship tonight if not for Gray. Monday's semi-final Cherokee outshot Shawnee 49 - 27 but Gray was the difference in the outcome. No matter the outcome of the finals, Gray & Shawnee have had a great year.

I disagree that the player of the year "should" be given to an A or AA player. We give it to the player that we feel is the best player in High School Hockey regardless of what level they play at.

As Jigga mentioned John and Chris Brennan both won while playing for single A Radnor.

Other Winners were Brian O'Neill, Jim Gehring and Mike Curran, yes all AAA, but in my opinion they were the best players that year.

Feel free to disagree with the choices.....but they didn't win it just because they played AAA.

player of the year should go to the best player regardless of level. in my opinion it would be between adam berkle and john soroka, because from what ive seen they are the 2 best players. i also think sean coll and justin stewart from o'hara arent too far behind.

it should not go to an aa or a player, just like it shouldnt automatically go to an aaa player. lets face it though, generally there is more talented players in aaa over the other 2 levels, with a few exceptions.
