Game tomorrow at Ice World.
Anyone giving HGP a shot at all? |

You can never count any team out.

2 days after a tough game against Judge makes it even less likely. Lasalle hasn't played in almost 2 weeks.

La Salle hasn't played as "La Salle" in over two weeks. VF Minutemen (which is basically La Salle) had a weekend series against Team Comcast.

8-3 Win by LaSalle...Wallin had a hat trick while the usual suspects of Berkle and Schmidt also helped out. Overall Ghost just seemed completely overwhelmed by LaSalle and was unable to keep up with the depth of LaSalle which has been the problem for all HS teams. Another test passed by Wally's team, now can they do it during Flyers Cup is the real question?

Lasalle is a better team all around, and I would never say otherwise. However if you look at that game, it was 2-1 Lasalle after 1 period, with Ghost outshooting them 9-4. Second period was the difference maker. Lasalle had a 5-3 power play followed by a 5 minute major powerplay. During this time they were able to change the score to 6-1 in their favor and the shot totals to 21-9 in their favor. Ghost scored 2 goals to make it 6-3, then Lasalle answered with 2 more. Lasalle wins that game regardless of the 2nd period momentum shifter, but I think the score could have been closer. I didnt think HGP was overwhelmed, just not as deep or talented. Lasalle is a faster team, but the shot totals werent lopsided, and Ghost definitely created some offense. Lasalle is much deeper defensively. They can play 6 defensemen, whereas Ghost really only has 3 (Burns, Bowman, and Gunerman...all 92s) that can play at their level. Lasalles forwards are deeper too, I just dont think it is as much of a drop off as the defense is. Lasalle is definitely in the drivers seat, and set to make a state title run. |

I wouldn't say that the power plays in the second period shifted momentum (at least that's what I read into HGP fan's comments). LaSalle had two power play goals (one on the 5 on 3, one during the 5 minute major, which was not a full 5 minute power play with a LaSalle penalty during it). According to the boxscore all HGP's goals were power plays (although the third shown as a powerplay did not appear to line up with a penalty), LaSalle having 11 penalties to HGP's 5 (6 with the 10 minute misconduct). Take away the power plays, the score is 6 - 0 or 6 - 1.....
In the LaSalle Malvern game, it was 3 - 2 LaSalle going into the third (with both of Malvern's goals coming on 5 on 3 powerplays), then they came out and scored 3 goals in a 3 minute span in the beginning of the third to open up the game. The scored 3 in a three minute span at the beginning of the SJP league game. They can score in bunches, and have shown that. If they could stay out of the box, I don't think the scores would be as close. |

The goals by period are wrong on the icshl scoresheet. Lasalle scored 4 unanswered goals in the second period to make the score 6-1, then ghost added a goal to make it 6-2 going into the 3rd. I believe lasalle scored 3 of the 4 goals at points starting when the 5 on 3 began and the 5 minute major ended.
Regardless, as I said lasalle wins the game no matter what, but the 5 on 3 and 5 minute major would be considered turning points in the game, because during this time lasalle broke it open. The first was back and forth. The 2nd was all lasalle. By the 3rd it didnt matter, because lasalle had built a lead. HGP did have all power play goals. The power play has been the undeniable strength of the team this year. It is one of the few consisitencies for HGP this year. |

Who wrote this stuff? Nick and Tommy Seravalli are cousins, not brothers.

I don't know who wrote it, but I believe locally the gate charged for High School Hockey is split 50/50 between the facility and the league. The rink portion is allocated for security, fee collecting etc., the league uses it's portion of the gate to underwrite operating expenses and to reduce the league team fees. |
