sorry jigga but i think its safe to say latta ran all over hershey. im not sure how many points he had exactly but i know that they certainly did not come close to shutting him down. he played a good game and it was clear that henderson was way stonger of a team down the stretch due to the efforts of his line along with the rest of their team.

One of his goals was empty net but he made a great move on that short handed breakaway, remember going into the thrid the game was 2-1 and than Henderson scored early in the 3rd. Latta wasn't the only reason Henderson won but he was the best player on the ice.

That was a big hit to roster. I think Ziegler is one of those defensive D-men that doesn't get the recognition. He moves the puck, good in corners, solid player. Obviously Weston hurt too. I don't know Hershey at all, not to take anything away from them.
Also, don't compare hockey to other school sports and activities -- it's not the same. And, spring sports HAVE started -- two weeks ago. Are the PV baseball players away right now? I don't know, but I'd guess not.
All that being said, no kid should be publicly villified for doing it. The simple fact is PV lost with the team they put on the ice. Why kids were there or not there isn't anyone's business but the team's. No excuses, no reason other than the other team scored more goals in the game.
1st of all, when I said spring sports really haven't gotten started yet, I was talking about games (there has only been scrimmages here in South Jersey). And 2nd, that was my point, that no kid should be publicly "villified". I also think that although the schools do not "sanction" hockey, I think they should try to work with the "club" when scheduling trips and so forth. Just a thought, maybe the club has to take the initiative. I know hockey sometimes requires more of a committment than other sports especially since most of the better players usually play school and travel, but the boys give up so much during their hs years. I don't think a kid should be publicly denounced because he chose to go on a senior trip.
Henderson Vs Hershey. Cottle had 3 Latta had 1 and TJ Wallace had 2.. Billy Latta is a great player but Alex Cottle is equally as great....too bad he doesn't get the credit due him. They do not play on the same lines at JRB and Cottle tallied more points than Latta in the Met league.
wch9, Its nice to know that you are worried about individual acknowledgement and recognition for Cottle when he is not the reason Henderson is going to states. I think everyone will get a good laugh at your comment because it seems somebody is a little jealous. Henderson is a great team and deserved all the success they had this year. MET league is a different story where some players put up points because of other players assistance. If you are playing Jr. B and are not able play the season without jealousy towards teamates especially than you indeed have some problems. Congrats on the BIG win Henderson and best of luck in the state championship.

Not sure why you are so offended by acknowledging that both Latta & Cottle are great players??? But you are right, all great players have to contribute their success to the players they share the ice with.
And Yes the great play of the entire Henderson team is the reason they are going to States!
Henderson wouldn't even be in the flyers cup without Latta. Latta is way better the Cottle and Cottle couldn't do what he does without him. Latta can score without cottle but he wouldn't be as good without Cottle. Take Latta or Cottle off Henderson and the team is nothing.
Wouldn't go so far as to say they would be nothing. I think Latta is a stronger player but its not like he is in a different world than Cottle, they play well together and Hederson most likley would not have won a flyers cup without both of them.
