If you post something that tweaks someone in power the Moderator will turn your name and e-mail address over to them. There is no privacy on this site. I expect an e-mail shortly.

There is privacy....it's the first time I've ever done it, so I know exactly what your talking about.

When you attack someone and that person wants to know who is attacking them, I will most likely tell them.

It has nothing to do with power, it has to do with you attacking my friend with false statements and mud slinging.

If you stand behind what you posted, it shouldn't be a problem. But then again, I don't see the posts up there anymore so maybe you've reconsidered.

But non-the-less, your advice to our viewers is good advice and I'm glad you posted it. People now will be more selective about what they choose to write about people, thus making my job easier.

So this site is a total joke!! So it is true that your "friend" can manipulate anything he wants including getting a person’s e-mail address from an internet board from one of his friends. Who are you going to dime out next? Can you track this address down? Why would anyone think that what was said is not true since you have publically omitted that you will cough up anyone’s identity to your friends if you or they don't like being challenged.

Let's go all the way. Please post your friends name ...my name and the name and address of everyone who has challenged anyone on this board below. Please just be honest and post only true names and e-mail addresses and not user names...if you don't you are a fraud and a total joke.

Buyer beware...if Matt doesn't like what you say he will seen your personally information to league officals and his friends in a heart beat.

Sorry you're upset, like you said, be careful what you post, this board wasn't designed for disgruntled parents to put out false information of league officials.

I understand that your upset, I would be too if my intentions were to anonomously slander someone and they found out who I was.

I have been quite blunt with my opinions often on this site. I'm sure I have irritated many people, though I have always felt provoked first. I'm equally sure that some of those people have been friends of Matt's...probably even Matt himself. NEVER have I been mistreated by the site or it's management in return.
I don't know what you said, on what subject, or about whom you said it. But I DO know that if you had expressed your opinion with any sort of tact and supported it with an even vaguely reasonable rendition of the facts involved, Matt would NOT have taken the action he took. He hasn't in other cases.

You apparently didn't step on the right land mine. I wonder if Matt provided the names of the other 15-20 people who posted on the same thread as well as the person who started it (which wasn't me). Again it depends on who you are. Like you said a lot of post on here are opinions and vaguely resoanable renditions of fact (heresay). Apparently that will get your e-mail address in the hands of anybody who wants it. Just ask Matt and he will hand it out.

So if you predict HGP might not win the AAA final Matt will send your name and e-mail address to the coach if the coach doesn't like you expressing your opinion.

Someone got banned from a game for posting something. You all have a constitutional right to freedom of speech.

If you post it, take responsibility for it and if you attack someone make sure you have your facts straight

Here's the question I'd like answered. Themichigan, was what you said true, or was it just slander? Because if it was slander I have no problem with what Matt did.

Was the original post deleted or is it sitll available to view?

On another note, I believe when you activate an account you have the option to allow people to view your information. If you opt not to because you want to maintain privacy and then somebody disseminates your information without your permission I believe there could be some Civil ramifications?

This is a touchy subject.

On the other hand, if you are going to bash somebody, morally you should have the guts to display your name.

Slander also has some civil ramifacations though doesn't it?

It sure does, but when it comes to a chat room, if there was a certain expectation of privacy on behalf of the "poster" that may exclude and liabilities on them.

This dam internet causes so many problems!!

Technically if it's written defamation, it's libel, isn't it? Or is it still slander if said on the internet? Maybe libel means documents/publications or something.

Moving on, I don't think it's right for an administrator to share private user information with other users. You do come onto these forums with the expectation of some privacy, and annoymous posters are okay, otherwise everyone would have to have a username like mine. At the same time, if you're going to be a jerk and totally make up false information and attack someone, I believe you've given up some of your privacy rights and maybe your email address should be given to the person you've been attacking. It's a toss up - I would be furious if my email were given to someone without my consent by a trusted adminstrator of any forum; at the same time, I'd never go on a rant attacking another user with false information either. Good luck sorting this one out.

If these forums had private messaging or some form of user to user communcation other than just posting on the boards and/or sharing private email addresses, I think we could have avoided this problem altogether.
