See the numbers below from the Official PIAA numbers. I'm not sure about your figures, but only male enrollment is used.

MALE ENROLLMENT

Downingtown East 768
Methacton 686
Downingtown West 667
Haverford High 663

WC East 580
WC Henderson 537
Bayard Rustin 537

And, I highly doubt those schools have 1200 females. Maybe you're using total school district enrollment?

OK nevermind thats my fault on the West Chester #s, those where from before Rustin opened. There around 1200+ at Henderson and 1300 at East. Rustin is also somewhere around the same.

After looking at the play-off results, it is pretty obvious to any impartial observer that the teams in the National Division are better than the teams in the Continental Division. I think the teams in the Continental Division should be grateful that they are ranked as high as they are.

Having talked to some of the coaches in the Eastern and Inter County Leagues, I know they were hoping to get games against SHSHL Continental Division. These coaches should be careful for what they wish for; it looks like some might actually get what the want.

I would be worried if I had a Flyers Cup game against Council Rock North. After that, I would not worry at all.

Carl, correct me if i'm wrong....the PIAA gets thier numbers by calculating MALE students grades 10-12. If that is the case, W.C. East goes from 1881 to roughly 600 making SM 14's numbers alot closer and more accurate

One thing to keep in mind about the Suburban playoffs is that Pennsbury wasn't included, and Rock North simply didn't play well. I'm glad those teams aren't bracketed to meet before the finals, because I think that would be a fantastic game. I haven't seen Haverford play, but I do know Rock gave Pennsbury two pretty good games.

Any word on whether Gannon will be ready? I know Barnes will be...

Matt,

My numbers are directly from the PIAA website for 2008-2009.

The three WC schools are all 300 or more total students smaller. In fact Henderson is the smallest of all seven schools listed.

The enrollment figures are for grades 9-11 by gender. New enrollment figures are based upon enrollment figures in the fall the previous year. Athletic directors sent enrollment figures in the fall of 2007 to set the new 2008-2009 & 2009-2010 figures which have been released by PIAA and will take effect beginning next school year. If they used grades 10-12, the 12th graders would be gone by the time the new enrollment figures were utilized.

As I just stated, those numbers are old, when Rustin opened East went from 1881 to almost 1300 exactly. Henderson shrank in the same way.
The 1300 number is taking directly from East's high school site.

There's no such thing as injuries in the Flyers Cup
