Train wreck at Skatium for HH.

North Penn - 8
Haverford - 3

It was 1-0 after the first, then Haverford's defense just broke down in the second. I'd say David Baker played at least 20 straight minutes of the first 21 minutes of the game (no time off the ice, literally) until he was hurt on a play which led to NP's fourth goal. It was 7-1 after the second period.

Third period saw one more goal for Penn and two more for HH, one on a breakaway by Haeberle. Karpinski and Hazelton were ejected with 3:30 left to go. Hazelton pounded on some kids face with his blocker after Karpinski threw him to the ground.

Rob Little came in and made a few saves for Haverford and... that's all she wrote for the defending champs.

Really surprised by Conestoga over Methacton. There goes my AA bracket...

Hmm seems like HH can't seem to lose a game without getting kids kicked out, remember states last year.

Going to Iceline for the double header tomorrow Steve?

If only, I have to work tomorrow night. I'm also scheduled Saturday 8-4 meaning I would miss all three championships but I'm trying to get out at 3 so I can at least make the AAA.

Did you have any thoughts/details on the Methacton game, Sir Martin?

I was coaching a JV game so i walked in with 10 minutes left and the score was 4-2 Stoga. The Methacton parents were going nuts over the refs claiming there were a ton of missed/bad calls. Then Stauffer was thrown out with about 6 min left and Stoga scored on the PP. With like 1:45 Barthleamess took a penalty but Methacton managed to score short-handed with like 35 seconds left but couldn't put another one away.

From what I saw the game was pretty rough and both teams were doing a lot of after the play talking and pushing but I think Methacton just seemed to lose their composure and were a little too aggressive.

Good game tonight to watch between CRN and Pennridge. A lot of play in the neutral zones with some nice hits. Looked a little sloppy but Pennridge played a good game. Congrats to CRN on the good season and good luck to Pennridge!

3-1 was the final. Pennridge over CR North.

2-0 pennridge until about 5 minutes left when North scored on the pp. They had another pp but could not convert.

Goal by Moyer with 1:30 left sealed it.

A suburban team won this game?! Clearly KH is at fault.

Here is the Pa Hockey Prediction prior to the playoffs. It seems like every year there are lots of upsets in AA, which makes the Flyers Cup so unpredictable. Congrats to Conestoga, North Penn, Pennridge and CB South and good luck in the Semis !

P.S. Kuod to the Flyers Cup Committee for their vision of making the Class AA and A a better tournament three years ago

Prediction: Pennsbury, Haverford and CR North appear to be one step ahead of the Flyers Cup field in 2008, but as we have learned over the past few years, that upsets loom in the early rounds and the survivors usually with a top seed move to the top. There are some pretty good teams from the Suburban and Inter-County in the field and I would not be shocked to see a Council Rock South or Pennridge or North Penn sneak through to the final four. I like Pennsbury’s pedigree and the field will have to stop them from a trip to Johnstown.

I'm actually surprised that there are three Suburban teams left. I expected atleast one team from Eastern and IC to be left.

Hazelton apologised to the kid after the game.

Paris, you played a good game. That was a sick glove in the first when the score was still 0-0 and that save could have made the difference in the game. You almost had Haeberle's breakaway, but after playing him four times this season (at least 25 shots - 4 goals) I know how tough he can be, haha.

Good luck the rest of the way.
