Mandell is an 18AA defensemen who has played at the Varsity level since he was a freshmen. He was a leader for our team, both on and off the ice. I know he didn't really put up huge offensive numbers, but he had plenty of assists, a few goals, and was a solid defensive force on the field (EDIT: Wtf.. field? I haven't played an outdoor sport in four years... I meant "ice") all season long.
Still, I'm curious, who do you think was better? I (as a goaltender) was very happy with the play of almost all of my defensemen this year. I know I can partially attribute the quality of my own numbers to their solid play, and I'm grateful towards them for that.

To support boraske and Jay ^^ I would have say all of Ridleys D men have played very good for him this year. The Wallace , Tolomeo Pair have played exceptionaly well and shut down top players against top teams.
..If Ridley has a chance of doing ANY damage in Flyers Cup it will have to be the teams defense that gives them the edge.
Anyway, shifting the focus from Ridley back to the ICSHL D-men of the Year, Carl, does the ICSHL give out any Defensemen of the Year/Forward of the Year/Goaltender of the Year official awards like the Eastern League does?

I thought that's what they invented minesweepers for?
The Eastern League is much smaller, and I think most of us would agree, posses far fewer stand out players. We have less teams, so it only makes sense that there would be arguably less talent. I think it makes choosing Players of the Year a little easier, and less controversial.
