So, a debate in an earlier thread circled around "would La Salle be considered one of the best teams ever, even if they don't win states" (to paraphrase)

What happens to this New England Patriots team in ten years....considered one of the best ever, or, forgotten about because they didn't win the Super Bowl?

I know we're hockey and not football, but the comparison can be made that NE was easily the best team all year, but might not be remembered as one of the all-time greats only because they lost the big one.

Thoughts?

Adding to that would La Salle losing the FC be a bigger upset than the Patriots losing?
