I agree Alex Cottle (Henderson). Best all around forward in the league. He works hard on both ends of the ice, plays well in transition, makes smart passes. I know alot of people think much of Cottle's succuess is from playing with Latta, and I will admit Latta is a nice person to be able to pass to, but Cottle is still a strong player without him. He is not quiet as flashy as Latta so you won't see him make specatualr deaks the same way Latta does but he does have the hands to get around most players. 2) Billy Latta (Henderson)- Like i said above, outstanding hands, also plays a very physical game, great speed, knows where to shoot. Doesn't play both ends of the ice as well at Cottle though. Started out the season very selfish with the puck, only passing when he had not shooting option, but has started to become a better team player since January. 3)Ben Slagis (Strath Haven)- Similar to Latta, has great hands, knows where to shoot. Sometimes hangs on to the puck too long, but still can be a great playmaker. 4) Chad Barthlemess (Methacton)- Very fast, great shot, also started the season a little selfish with the puck but that has improved. 5) Richard Masiantinio (Conestogs)- Great speed and hands, is patient with the puck, can make something out of nothing. Plays well in front of the net. Needs to stay out of the penatly box to remain sucuessful. 6) Matthew Milana (Unionville)- Very creative with the puck, good combo of speed and hands. Great finisher, aside from Brennan doesen't have much support up front. 7) Greg Strooman (Garnet Valley)- Fast for his size, great hands, very accurate shot, good finisher on one of the leagues top lines. 8) TJ Fioillo (Perk Valley)- 9) Mike Igatuk (W.C. East)- 10) Andy Thomas (D'town East), Jamie Berlin (Kennett)- Both of these kids are great players who play both ends of the ice but don't have much offensive support so their numbers are not great. |

I like this list, I would deff put 1 Cottle at the top. He is the smartest player on the list and he is very skilled also.
2 Billy is probaly the most talented on this list because he has the most speed and still very good hands shot, but he needs to learn how to play more. 3 Slagis I havent seen cause he was hurt last game. 4 Barthlemess is a good player but hes not anything like Cottle or Billy or Slagis offensively, but he does play well in his own zone. 5 Masiantinio looked like a solid player but wasnt overly impressive v S Haven which is the only time ive seen him play this year. 6 Milana is the youngest on the list so thats always impessive but he doesnt always play well in his own zone. He is a good goal scorer though. 7 Strooman is one of the strongest kids out there and I think this makes his skill level look higher. He does have decent spped and a good shot though. 8 Havent seen TJ play this year. 9 Ignatuk as its spelled plays for Rustin, and is a good player with a great shot and good hands. 10 THomas, honestly I dont remember him on the ice when we played them so hes probaly a solid player but not great 11 Berlin, I havent seen Kennet play this year By the way this inst my rankings im just commenting on yours. I would deff switch some things around. |

Snipe,
You are asking for top ICSHL forward, not 16UAAA forward. I actually feel Matt somewhat cherry picks a bit with Unionville. Also, when he gets shadowed, you can shut him down. That being said, there is no question he is a very talented kid. I actually find Jigga's list to be close to what I have, though forwards 7-10 are probably interchangeable depending on your personal preferences or what night you watch those players. |

Well Cottle is #3 in AYHL 18U, with 29 points in district games, He over 50 points for the season not including district games, also Ikkala has 29 points in district games and also has 50 points. The 16U league is not as strong as the 18U league. Also like someone said AYHL is not high school. Ikkala is tied for 1st on the Jr. Flyers in points but isn't on my list, not because he is not a good player but because he doesn't lay as well in HS games as he does in club. Not denying Matt is a great player, at times he does cherry pick but its not as if he is never playing D. He has had some great games this season but like someone said he can be shut down when he is shadowed Thomas for DTE proved that. |

So you go to Unionville? I think that's a very bold statement, not much to argue since there is no way to prove otherwise but i have to say i respectfully disagree. I will say that i doubt any sophmore has led Bud's team in scoring, and its not as if they have never had good sophmores its just the physical maturity of an 18 year old compared to a 15 or 16 year old. Skating though and scoring 7 the Perk Valley D is one thing (quiet a good one) but leading a midget AAA team that plays a nation schedule (and a competive district) in scoring is quite another. Jigga,
I would also consider the following guys: Chris Johnson from Boyertown: fast skater, good two ways and finishes well. I'd actually have him in the top 10. Mike Christie from PV I like alot too. Really good offensively, but he's kind of slightly built and not very physical. Ikkala should be on that list. He's as valuable to D'town West as Milana is to Unionville. My List: 1. Latta 2. Slagis 3. Barthelmess (though he gets too many PIMs) 4. Cottle (I have seen him be rather ordinary when he's not on the ice with Latta. Latta on the other hand is still dangerous by himself, it's just that when they're on the ice together, Billy will pass it to Alex and it makes them both so much better) 5. Milana (I think of him as Latta-lite) 6. Ikkala 7. Masciantonio 8. Ignatuk (Milana-lite?) 9. Chris Johnson (maybe it was just the couple of games that I saw him in, but he looked very strong in both ends of the ice) 10. Thomas (I like good two way players, and he is very good in the defensive zone) 11. Fiorillo 12. Strootman (Maybe it's that I saw him play against Conestoga as one of his games, but he just struck me as offensive minded and defensively indifferent) |

39 Goals-12 Assists. Than the next closest in goals on that team is 5. I would say thats not much help, but maybe not? I just saw Unionville play on Friday, and it just seemed like a lot of their players just watched Milana alot and tried to hard to get him the puck even when there was another open man. |

As a player for unionville, i would say that Matt Milana is definetly in the top 3 and anything outside of that is disrespectful.
Whoever said that he cherry picks, I couldn't disagree any more. Yeah he gets shutdown when he is shadowed, but he doesn't get much help up front. You take a guy like Cottle, when he gets shadowed all he has to do is pass the puck over to Latta. It's not the same for Matt. I do also think that Matt plays better defense then a lot of the guys on this list. |

Ah I thought you were saying he had a lot of help my fault.
Its not that i don't think he is a great player, I would even say that #4-#10 are pretty interchangeable, i just wouldn't put him above Cottle, Latta, or Slagis. |

Slagis did play Junior A, did he not?
On another note, since no one really cares about the EHSHL or would ever make a topic "Best EHSHL defensmen," since the Eastern League is sort of an inner league of the ICSHL, I think it's only fair to include them in any discussion about top players from InterCounty. That brings in TJ Haeberle of course, maybe Karpinksi and Rob D'Urbano from Marple and uh.. that might be it. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Boraske33, |

Ok im gonna be honest. If your gonna put anyone from PV, its gotta be matt deluca
|

Ok as for Slagis, there is no real junior A anywhere around here but he is a good player.
As for Milana im not going to take anything away from him, he is a great player. But to say he would be the leading scorer on buds team is rediculous. If you look at Cottle, Ikkala(done for the season by the way) Latta, Strootman they are all much more physically machore. and in 18u the dmen are big and good as compared to about 80% of the ICSHL dmen who are bad. |

Top Intercounty player has to be Slagis or Barthemass, they both control games from just their presence on the ice. They are big and strong on the puck and know how to make plays out of nothing. Also, the two are all around players and can throw their weight around if they need to. MAscintonio would be no where near the top of the list. He is a good player, but he is also a huge hot head and does not do the smartest things he can with the puck. He, like most of Stoga is not a two way forward

how can you validate what you are saying since you do not play against most of the icshl teams or players like latta milana cottle ignatuk and so on. you are basing your judgement off of the few teams that you have played in the icshl
