This is an honest, un-loaded, question. Thanks.

HHFan--
Sorry,I posted after I skated last night. It was late and my stomach was empty, so I couldn't formulate a better response.

Perhaps the last sentence of my last post was somewhat off-base, though the one before that claim is a valid one.

Like I said before, television production is very expensive venture. Selling ad space for one game, let alone three for a sport that isn't even recognized as a varsity sport by many schools.

Consider (from an advertising standpoint) high school hockey as a minor league system. The AAA level is touted as the highest level of high school hockey in the area. Don't get me wrong, AA and A both have talented teams.

If I'm a business trying to get exposure, would I want to put an ad on a Phantoms broadcast or a Lehigh Valley Xtreme broadcast? (the Xtreme were scheduled to play in the UHL years ago; never got off the ground; single A hockey)

It's just like parents who see "AAA", "Midget Elite" or "Junior A- Tier III". They instantly think it's a better opportunity for their kids to play.

Got it. The theory of "best play" drawing more generic fans than would be provided by the larger fan base at AA or A programs. I take your point.

its all a matter of luck i mean im sure a great night for a AA or A team can topple a Horrible Night for a AAA team ... the leaguye system is flawless but it works for sure ... i mean we (wc east) played conestoga in preseason and had a good game where as i thought stoga had anticipated an easy game .. then we went on to start the season in the A league 0 - 3 . .. just goes to show any team can have a good nite when another team is anticipating an easy game

Who anticipates an Easy game in the playoffs though? Stoga new PV was as good if not a better team.

I think we should rename the division, National, American, Atlantic so we could confuse the marketing people and get them to buy commericals for ever game haha.

I thought this game was not as good as the A game. I also agree that there are more strong teams in A than AA.

BUT on to the game. Yes i was surprised to see that Moyer and Welch did not come off the ice even once in the over time. Lightheart took a few shifts off but i think that was mostly because he got hurt. Since someone on here said the Pennridge coach outcoached Kenny Has, I was expecting some great game plan, aside from running a trap and keeping his best 3 players on the ice i didn't see outstanding coaching, not that it was bad coaching though.

Moyer was clearly fatigued in the Overtimes (as he very well should have been) and got the puck taken away from him many times on 1 on 1's with Wanner.

I was happy to see Rich M. score the winning goal since they missed the behind the play cheap shot on him in the first overtime. However since i mentioned a cheap shot, the 2nd conestoga penatly could have been a two and 10.

It suprised me that Pennrdige had only 13 skaters.

Mazda was the tourney goalie announced at the game. Had 3 very good games in a row, each getting better. I don't know about talent but all his hard work certainly paid off. 40 shots, 2 goals in the final and a 29 save shutout in the semis, and they weren't easy goals.

There were quite a few odd man rushes and breakaways, not a ton of easy saves in all those shots.

Conestoga also beat Rustin in those playoffs, so maybe they just didnt play well that one night against PV

Quaker Velley also beat Mars in the Flyers cup who was 20-1-1. I think we learned this season that wins and losses to other teams dont mean crap.
