20??? at least 25. probably close to 30. And I insulted his program and how he ran it much more than personally insulting him. Perhaps his integrity - but when your integrity is questionable you tend to have it questioned. Where there's smoke there's fire, correct?

I'm all for that - but to stir the pot one last time - with La Salle beating Bonner 8-0 last night how many minutes did Trimback's kid play in the 3rd period?

Hey - if I wasn't stirring the pot our discussions would consist of "Boy, that La Salle team is good, huh?" "Yep" "That Malvern prep is pretty good, too" "Yep" "But not as good as that La Salle" "You said it" - What the hell fun would that be?

Oh, c'mon - Gilligan was making enemies in the 80's and 90's just as well as he does now. And I still don't have an answer on Johnston, other than "school administrators check on where students live, not the coach" - it's a half step from an admission of guilt. But it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things - his program was always under suspicion for a reason. He asked for proof and I gave it to him, citing a player who NEVER lived in his district who played defense for him. The rest of the story is that it was discovered that Johnston didn't live in the district and ironically he ended up transferring to La Salle, all be it after I had left. I know, because I lived two doors down and helped him get to La Salle. But Gilligan won't tell you that - he'll tell you he doesn't remember, or he wasn't responsible for that aspect of the team, or whatever. It's an old tired song and dance.

I don’t know if my friend Carl Wood would allow me to come back to this post after declaring victory because this cat keeps changing the subject from his original post, but I will try. If Carl thinks I am breaking the code I guess he will become my newest enemy.

I don’t know what else you want me to tell you about Jim Johnson. I don’t know how much you know about enrolling into a high school, but you can’t just walk through the door and say I want to go to school here even though I live in Horsham. You have to show proof of residence to attend a high school. I don’t know what proof the Johnson’s used to enroll Jim in Council Rock; it’s not really any of my business. I don’t know how that’s, “half a step from an admission of guilt”.

Now you are saying that it was discovered that Jim didn’t live in the district and he ended up transferring to La Salle. Who discovered he didn’t live in the district? Are you saying that Jim was kicked out of the high school? Are we supposed to take your word for it? You said Jim and 9 other players (half Rock’s team) didn’t live within Rock’s school district. Who are the other 9? You said, “I know this because I played with these boys at Face-Off”.

By the way, you said you played for La Salle in 1992. That puts you around 16 years old at that time. I was 32 in 1992, so I would be 16 years older than you. Not 25 to 30 as you posted. Again more misinformation out of you.

Thanks Matt, but I am only 16 years older that this cat. I would put my money on me also, but this guy doesn’t strike me as the kind of person that would confront anyone in person.

Sorry to hear that. I know I hated playing against Rock in high school. We never beat you guys and I would have given up my teeth to win then What is ironic is I ended up teaching at Rock. Go figure!

Thanks FlyersFan for your kind words. It is a great thing that you still support the Matt Harrington Golf Tournament. If I could play golf I would have played in the tournament myself. However, I stink at golf and any person in my area would have his or her life in danger if I hit the ball. I have been there for the dinner and enjoyed listening to Joe Conklin.

Not sure I would put Penncrest 05 in top teams ever, they did win the FC but they also had I think 4 ties that year. They were the best “A’ team in the state but never really destroyed opponents, but played a very disciplined good system of hockey.

Sorry to break the string of name-calling, trash-talking, etc. but:

JB - I agree we didn't demolish teams. But our system worked for our personnel and we just shut teams down in most games that season. Usually, we gave up less than 3 goals. Our only league/playoff/FC/State loss was to Malvern AAA. What is it they say about defense and championships? Would be interesting to see how our team would have faired against those offensive juggernauts that Radnor had.

To know Paul (well) is to love him. This is all water so far over the dam, its funny. Even the IRS statute of limitations is only 7 years. Defending actions based on "he did it first" or "he did it last" is worthless. The point to be made is "don't do it the next time". We are coming down to a denouement for next year about tiering and Flyers Cup classes, what with the PCL schools joining the PIAA, and the PIAA changing, or failing to change, their eligbility and transfer rules. So I'd pay attention to current or future behavior in these regards rather than worry about ancient history.

Good point. It does make for some interesting discussions. Thanks.

You're welcome. I really wanted to get involved coaching with you when I was at Rock, but politics being what they are. . . The Matt Tournament was a great time. It was interesting talking with players from that Rock team and getting their point of view about a game against us. We had a lot of laughs. In the end, the animosity that enters into competition is gone and you become friends.

I no Ridley and the cen league gets no respect but.....

The 05-06 ridley raider team was a dominate team of the past... they finished somthing along the lines of 13-2-2

beating teams like Haverford high with finnerty , campli ,
sweeping AAA st joes all 3 games ... Penncrest who won FC A that year .....
and tieing the STACKED ohara AAA of cauley cross n kling. 7-7

the raiders were the 6th seed in AA FC that year and should have gone all the way... the only thing that stoped them was a coaching mistake , instead of playing # 1 sophmore Steve boraske (current goallie) they played the senior goalie steve curtis who let up easy goals and was knocked out by the 11th seed pennridge in an upset 4-2

the raiders had explosive tallent and was criticezed all season 4 not playing as a team.... offense was lead by Ry Murry , Billy fox , Ry small .. goaltending was Steve Boraske and they had size and speed on the D

How can you say they get no respect? If they were given the #6 seed...that's obviously respect.

The Central league has been one of the most respected leagues over the past 8 years. The Flyers Cup champion has come from the central in six of the last seven years at 'A' and HH has won the last three AA championships. No respect????

Central league gets pleanty of respect..

that ridley team did have an impressive tie Vs. O'hara. And did beat that HH team 3-2. But what about the game before that when they played HH and lost 9-2. They should hardly be in the running for best team ever, or even top 5 teams of 2006.
