Top Cat,
Why did you leave Rock? I was at the last Matt Harrington Golf Outing talking with players from the team. They said you were no longer coaching.

It is not the coach’s job to find out where students are living. I coach a college team and I can tell you what high school each student came from, but I could not tell you beans about where they live.

I don’t care where my students live now and I didn’t care where my students lived when I was coaching Council Rock.

I would think a program that was so highly scrutinized and constantly accused of cheating would have a head coach that would have assured that his team was on the up and up, rather than not caring about where his kids lived.

Back then at Rock hockey was a club sport that got zero support from the school. A friend of mine once told me that he called the school to ask when the next hockey game was so he could take his 10 year old to watch. The answer he got from the Rock front desk was "we don't have a hockey team"

So I'm not sure if Paul had to comply with anything the school wanted as far as rules go....just the SHSHL.

Just my 2 cents, I may be wrong....but that quote is accurate.

I can relate to that. My Sophomore year at La Salle we were forced by the school to have the word "La Salle" removed from our brand new jerseys that we had sold yearbook ads to purchase. We played my Sophomore season as just the Explorers, and had a starting goalie from Upper Dublin HS and a back up from Lansdale Catholic. I believe the school started funding the program in 1993.

2002 and 2003 Peters Township, who destroyed Archbishop Carroll 10-3 and then Holy Ghost the next year 10-2

Division 1 Players
Chris Clackson - Western Michigan
Matt Clackson - Western Michigan
Christian Hanson - Notre Dame
Christian Minella - Notre Dame
Matt Schwartz - Bentley
Eric Trax - Robert Morris

And a pretty good supporting cast !

Would have won it in 2004 if Cooper had played freshman Rob Madore [Chicago Steel USHL # 1 Draft Choice]

This State will never see a team as loaded as that one.....even Malvern Prep with Gehring, Watsons, Lawrence, etc can't match that team !

I guess I should just take the advice of my friend Carl Wood and declare victory and walk away from this thread. It is obvious to even an escaped mental patient or carnival reject that plym_20 has no intentions of backing up his original post, which I have again included below. He also will not apologize for attempting to spread misinformation.

Since he can’t run away from his first post fast enough he is saying I should now know where every player lives. Great Job amigo! You are a real credit to the term rumor monger.

Those Rock teams of the late 80's / early 90's were good, along with Tennant - problem was that half the Rock kids didn't live within Rock's school district. I can tell you that because I played with a bunch of them at Face-Off. That was the precursor of hockey recruiting.

It’s very simple FlyersFan, I can’t stand the people that now run the team and they can’t stand me!

If I remember correctly didn't Schwartz leave Bently to go play at Penn State?

Sorry to hear that. I know I hated playing against Rock in high school. We never beat you guys and I would have given up my teeth to win then Smiler What is ironic is I ended up teaching at Rock. Go figure!

Dude....that's just wrong! You're the one that comes on here questioning peoples character and integrity and when people defend themselves you throw out a sarcastic insult. You're a joke!

PS that is the first time in over 600 posts that I have ever insulted anyone!

Oh, c'mon - Gilligan was making enemies in the 80's and 90's just as well as he does now. And I still don't have an answer on Johnston, other than "school administrators check on where students live, not the coach" - it's a half step from an admission of guilt. But it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things - his program was always under suspicion for a reason. He asked for proof and I gave it to him, citing a player who NEVER lived in his district who played defense for him. The rest of the story is that it was discovered that Johnston didn't live in the district and ironically he ended up transferring to La Salle, all be it after I had left. I know, because I lived two doors down and helped him get to La Salle. But Gilligan won't tell you that - he'll tell you he doesn't remember, or he wasn't responsible for that aspect of the team, or whatever. It's an old tired song and dance.

Oh, and you gotta do better than that on an insult - you used to play, right? That sort of trash talking is way sub par, especially for someone who has over 600 posts of pent up insults waiting to be unleashed.

That's my point pal, I dont talk trash on here and have limited tolerance for those who do, especially when it comes to personal insults.

Insult topcat in person.....he's 20 years older than you and I have no idea who you are.....and I'll still put my money on him in a heartbeat.

I am. I try to take people as I find them. I know Paul made some enemies along the way, but haven't we all?
