I had Heberle to my list because I think he is one of the best forwards in the league however I do believe that his points are very inflated. This year he scored the 9th goal in the Radnor game. I have aboslutly no problem with a team 10 goaling a team, and clearly Haverford was the better team in that game but when a team is running its top players in the 3rd period when you’re up by 8 that is a little suspect. I don’t blame T.J. at all if he is one the ice by all means he should try and score just why is that line on the ice in the first place. That being said he did score 3 against Methatcon in what was a very close game.
Also I don’t think its ever been mentioned that Haveford High has won 3 straight flyers cups each year and has replaced its leading scorer each year, which is something I don’t think Malvern, Radnor or Carroll the other teams who have 3-peated ever had to do. So hats off for that I just think sometimes their top players stats get a little inflated due to a pretty weak schedule.

i have seen most of these kids play and looking at AAA midget teams along with high school teams, i find some of the lists misguided. an easy list would have to begin with those kids who are standouts at the midgetAAA level then fill in around these boys. there are several boys who have made the festival teams at the 91 level who are not even listed not to mention boys who are having excellent seasons at the AAA midget major level. all this is speculation, but if you want the easiest way
to make a list ; just ask your son, he will know.

There arent many players playing high school hockey from the district teams. From the 90's its just Berkle, Latta, McDyre, and Tyler Lewis. They would all be considered top players. Most of the others are either NJ kids, or have left for juniors or preps.

Of the 91s, DeChristopher, Luukko, Milana, and Pascal play high school hockey. I would consider Pascal and Milana top players, but not Luukko and DeChristopher.

Most of the top players from the 2 very good midget major teams, Minutemen and Jr Flyers, most of the kids have been mentioned.

i agree with your assessments but also want to remind you of tyson and denczi who though 91s are playing midget major and doing verywell. anytime one tries to pick there are always people missed. one last addition may be the baackup goalie on lasalle who though a 92 was a festival memeber and is getting serious consideration for the ntdp. i cannot envision another hs team that would not start him. see
you around the rink. by the way when does hgp play again.

Jigga-as usual pretty good list. Hope you don't mind me commenting on your top goalie list. Pyne is a no brainer but think their are two other goalies worthy of consideration in my opinion for your top list (or any other for that matter).... Jim Murray-Cardinal O'Hara and Rob Mattern - West Chester Henderson. Hazelton and McCollugh are great choices, just think Murray and Mattern play in goal is just as important to their teams success as Hazelton and McCollugh.

Yea, they are both very good players, in fact Lasalle has more talent on this years team, then any high school team I remember from the last 5 years, even more so then some of the real good Malvern teams. I'd love to see their games vs Delbarton and St Augustines, because this season I feel those 3 teams are the top high school teams in the district, including Lawrenceville, Hill, and Wyoming Seminary, who havent been as strong in recent years.

HGP plays tonight at 630 at Grundy vs Ryan. No clue what team will show up.

Im not too familiar with Mattern, but I would not include Jim Murray as a top goalie. I have seen him play twice against LaSalle and Holy Ghost, and did not think he looked good. I will admit that Ohara doesnt have the best defense, but Murray wasnt a game-stealer either. I think he is a very good player, but at this point not one of the top 3 or 5 goalies around.

have to agree with you on both posts. lasalle has amazing depth for a hs team in this area. there are seniors in the right spots and their second line of juniors is as good as any top line in the area. their defense is filled with mature talented junior and senior while and their third line has good energy. they
play delbarton next wed. at hatfield and then hill on friday at their palace. it will be interesting to see how they fare.

LaSalle is clearly the deepest team around. They have 6 forwards (Berkle, Zoldy, Wallin, Denczi, Schmidt and Tyson) that would be top line players for any HS in the area. Also, they have two solid goaltenders in Pyne and Antoni while there Defense is also very good. While Antoni is not NTDP caliber, he is still a very solid goaltender and would start everywhere else in the area. Varley, Wallin, Cruice and Antoni are all 92's that have been with the Atlantic District Festival teams. I believe Varley and Wallin will be making a big impacts for the team since Cruice is a freshman and Antoni is behind Pyne.

Also, I agree that you need to have Latta and Cottle up there, both are talented players with on arguably one of the best teams in the nation at the Midget 18U level.

Pennsbury's top line of Barnes, Gannon and Sweetland have to be considered one of the top lines in the area as well. I saw them single handedly dismantle Neshaminy the other night. While Neshaminy is not as strong as in years before, Pennsbury's top line is still very dominant at the AA level
