Rustin beats Unionville but not before a big fight at the end of the game. First issues, is why the referees did not call 3 benches penalties on Unionville, 1st one Unionville fans throwing puck out on ice during game play #2 Unionville fans new chant FU Rustin which was clearly chanted #3 Unionville fans coming down to the glass towards the end of the game and shaking the glass and hanging over the glass. The referees should of stopped the game and the Unionville fans removed from the rink. But it was allowed to go on. The Ice Line security stood there and watched and then decided to attempt to stop the Unionville fans from shaking the glass. And let's not forget the fight in the parking lot with the Unionville fans & Rustin fans did this not happen last year with Unionville and another school. Everyone likes a great hockey game, but when it get's to the point where players could get seriously injured because referees don't want to call penalties when clearly they should be called.
Can't imagine the Rustin fans sat on their hands and were quiet the whole game. Agree #1 and #3 warrant removal from the rink.
However Rustin wants the opposing team to get a bench penalty for their fans chant.....if you want that called Rustin would have played the entire Henderson game short handed for "Goalie Name,You Suck" chant.
not the job of the referees to police the stands. That is why the rinks have or should have security when there are big crowds. Especially Friday night games with big crowds. So the reason a player may get hurt in a situation like this is because the fans threw a puck on the ice or had a chant?? Come on, get real. Do you think the Rustin player cross checking the Unionville player at the buzzer may get a player injured?? Probably. And guess what? the referees did call a 5 minute major on the play. That clearly should have been called and was!! Maybe before the the fans exit the building the referees should go out there as well. Why is it always the referees fault when players, fans and coaches conduct themselves poorly. From what I understand the referees called alot of penalties. I know both coaches are suspended for the next game due to the 15 penalty rule.
#23 for McDevitt had 49 PIM in one game. I have never seen anyone get that many in one hockey game. I wasn't there, but if someone was I'm curious to know what happened.
That can't be right - they gave that kid a 5 minute major for tripping. I was never a saint on the ice and lead my college league in penalties 3 of the 4 years I played, but even I've never got a 5 minute major for tripping. That must have been one hell of a trip.
Wow! I can't believe hockey4u & hockey22 think Rustin was an innocent bystander at the game! Give me a break.....hockey4u, if you had actually turned your head to the right and looked down the bleachers at "YOUR FANS" you would have seen the exact same thing occuring at that end of the ice as at the end you were sitting at. Your fans were on the glass shaking the glass, the security was down there as well, and your fans were chanting at Unionville's goalie and players saying exactly the same thing you said Unionville fans said. Unfortunately you are so onesided it is rediculous. As for throwing the puck at the players on the ice, "DUH!!!!!!!! They were returning the puck back to the referees because it landed in the stands after a play.....are you for real expecting a penalty for returning a puck to the game!!! Rustin parents and their players and fans should be as ashamed as any Unionville parent, player or fan. Rustin players got away with many nasty plays in the game, a few of which should have been called. Rustin threw punch after punch during the game and got no penalty for it....players tried their best to injury Unionville players during the game and it was disgusting to watch. Again, no one is innocent in this game. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!!!!! As for Hockey22 if Unionville is unclassy, I guess Rustin is just as unclassy because those boys fought as much if not more than Unionville did on the ice, and your fans in the parking lot fought as much as Unionville did, so please again, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!
This is unbelievable...Unionville being unclassy? are you kidding me! That whole game was absolutely ridiculous... You can't just say that Unionville's fans were out of control because Rustin's fans were just as out of control, chanting the goalies name and yelling other chants. Unionville is not innocent but Rustin should take blame too instead of acting like it was all of Unionville's fault.
Boy please don't say anything against Unionville you have to be kidding me. Yes there was a puck thrown out on the ice after it went into the stands there was also a puck thrown out by someone sitting with Unionville students, not a return puck. Chant's it is one thing to yell goalie you suck that is the same chant at every single high school game. Stating FU Rustin is another thing, is a classes act by the Unionville fans. I have seen enough hockey games that once the stands get out of control the referee will stop the game tell the coach of the offenders and you would normally see the coach jesture to the stands. I have seen more than my share of parents being thrown out during a game and it is the referee that does the tossing. The game was chippy, on both sides. There was a responsibility with the Ice Line staff to have the proper security there. If you were at Aston non of that would of happened. There was allot of punching going on by both teams on the ice during the game. I guess I must of been watching another game after I watched my son get punched in the back of the helmet by a Unionville player or how about the Unionville player who sat on the back of the Rustin player on the blue line and attempted to make a permanet implant of the the Rustins player hockey cage into the ice. I guess Unionville played the perfect game but came out with 15 or more penalties and they did nothing wrong. What was that about glass houses?
Yo Unionville is straight trash. Bunch of rich spoiled tough guys. Kennett is gonna kill them. If you thought Rustin v. Unionville was bad just wait till Friday, 5:45 at Ice Line. Kennett vs. Unionville is the biggest rivalry in the area. Get ready.
uh oh...this is exactly why high schools don't want to have anything to do with ice hockey. a fantastic game that brings out the worst in players, fans, and worst of all...parents

Ok, well Hockey99, you can't read obviously! At no time did I indicate Unionville was innocent of anything....but I guess Rustin must be according to you!!! As for punches during the game if you really want to go there, I will.....our players were deliberatley hit behind the plays....after our first goal, ahhh who was it that took the Unionville player behind the net after the play and slammed him into the board, shoving his helmet up over his chin and cutting his mouth....let me guess...it was Rustin!!! and who was it that threw punches at Unionville again after the stoppage of play in front of our goalie after they slashed the goalie!!!! let me guess Rustin!!!! So please stop implying Rustin did nothing wrong. I indicated above as you obviously didn't read that yes, Unionville parents, players and fans should be ashamed of the fight at the end, but you the rest of your parents, players and fans should be just as ashamed!!!!! So yes, that thing about glass houses is true....please learn to read!!!! And to the young player JB23, Kennett has some very wealthy families playing ice hockey in your school as well, because we know them, so again, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!!!! You are now just as unclassy as Unionville!!!

by the way who won the game? (sarcasm) these kids confuse toughness with hooliganism both on and off the ice. this is another example as to why the piaa and the schools will never recognize hockey as a varsity sport.
