Stoga lost, they are not the better team...
When you lose the team that beat you is the better team. It's that simple.

Ryan 3
Judge 2
I believe Olivieri had all three in this one to give Ryan the win

oldschool. how could u say that? the team who wins is not always the better team. for example the super bowl, anyone with a bit of knowledge about football knows the partiots are the better team, but they had an off day. stoga outshot them 45 to 25 i would say that is outplaying them. i dont understand how u think the winner of the game is always the better team. there is such thing as luck and an off day in sports.it is called an upset and it happens everyday in the world of sports.

That's really classless to blame your goaltender for a loss. You win as a team and lose as a team.

When your team drops a game, you should not go right to blaming your goaltender.

First of all, take a look in the mirror. Our team got burned so many times on (in my opinion) slow and awful 1 on 1 moves.

What we said in the locker room after the game was that we need to come together and work hard to achieve our goal of the Flyers Cup, and Pavelich77 what you are doing is immediately ripping us apart. Numerous times you personally had TONS of time to make an easy breakout pass, and instead you hold the puck and hold it, and end up icing it for a face-off in our end.

In addition, the SOG were very deceiving; we controlled the game, and Taxin did play outstanding, however their 27 shots nearly ALL came off odd-man rushes.

I do admit that I must bring my A game to go far in the Flyers Cup, which I did not have last night.

Woah woah. The position of well spoken, 18UAA + HS Varsity goalie is already taken on these forums, okay Mazda?

Only kidding. Sounds like a tough one against Marple. I have plenty of first hand experience with Durbs, so I know how tricky he can be. I wouldn't worry about whatever your teammate just said either; no one here took it seriously anyway.

Good luck with the rest of your season and in Flyers Cup.

I think oldschool meant the "Better Team" that game or night.

Damn, blaming the goalie... Where was the defense? Defense can always make a goalie look better by reducing shots, especially reducing the shots to low percentage shots. Where was the backchecking from the offense?

Did the D and/or O have trouble moving the puck out of the zone?

In a way yes, but Marple is a top contender and I wouldn't consider it a fluke that they won. Had it been a team that was 0-10, then I would fully agree that they were the better team for the night. But in this case Marple's better players showed they were better then Stogas top guys in a head to head match up.
Both are nice teams but it seems Marple pulled this off because they have more depth. I think both teams have one real strong offensive line. The difference here was Marple's goalie showed his experience and they had more depth on defense which makes them a better team.
Remember this is High School hockey and talent all comes down to the luck of the draw.

looking at my PDF of the scoresheet... only 1 penalty in the game, cross-check, 2nd period on #11 of Henderson. Its on the web site, just easy to miss amidst all the scoring.
