Well, it is fair to question the reporting. As a goaltender whose statistics rely heavily/almost soley on what these (usually kids) scribble down per game, I can tell you that some of them vastly undercount the amount of shots you face per game. Others count wrists shots from the end of the ice that you stop behind your net as shots as well. It's hit or miss with a lot of these scorekeepers, LaSalle obviously outshot Bonner, but 73 does seem like a lot.

Having tracked both shot attempts (an offensive stat) for my skaters and saves (by my goaltender) independently from the stands for years, I've seen the variance in official SOG as Steve describes it. Some nights every shot attempt is a SOG, other nights the scorekeeper seems to get the first shot, but not the multiple whacks and rebounds that are NOT a goaltender's best friend.
On the other hand, from years of keeping the stat, it takes 2 shot attempts to generate each official SOG. All those high hard slap shots off the glass, those top shelfers that miss high and wide. The highest attempts in a 45 minute game I ever had was over 100, which converted into 64 official SOG, and only 8 goals--the goaltender had a "good" night. By the 3rd period, the players' arms were too tired to shoot...
So if LaSalle had 73 official SOG, I am either suspicious or impressed, and usually the scorekeeping at the Skatium does a pretty good job.
The shot count was pretty close. We counted a little less than the score keeper. I also think we had a few more shots than he had. Nonetheless, it was a great and dominant effort by LaSalle and a good game for the Bonner goalie.
Shots were 40-15, Methacton. We lost with 1:15 left in the third. Infuriating; I almost broke my stick along the boards. Fights involving players/parents going at it after the game in front of the Rink 2 locker rooms. I had already gone into the locker room, so I have no details other than I wish we could occasionally score a goal or two.

The **** after the game was completely avoidable. There was a late hit along the boards by the Ridley bench, a few Ridley players came off and some Methacton players got involved. At that point, I skated to their goalie, congratulated him on his shutout, and left the ice. What I have next is second hand info:
Things got settled and then there was the "official" handshake which I regrettably missed. Then, for whatever reason, the refs and coaches thought it would be a great idea to allow the two teams to leave the ice at the same time. Of course, more fights broke out. Parents rushed to break it up and started going at it themselves, you know, the good stuff. Teams should never leave the ice together, even if they're best of friends. It's just asking for trouble, it needs to be an official rule in my opinion.
