New Jersey didn't buy any ice for the flyers cup. Oaks does not charge a gate or provide security for games, if they gate is charged its done by a ICSHL volenteer. I think the semi's should always be a fixed location so you can always see a double header, maybe each year rotate which rink its at between the rinks that can handle large crowds (Iceline, Iceworks, Hatfield, Skadium)

iceline has good stands to seat all the fans but the lobby to wait in is rough... i was in the hall to rink 1 which is probably 10 feet wide and there were about 800 fans in there... talk about hott... i was gettin toasted... i think secruity should of done a better job waiting to allow fans to go back to the rink, the secruity was complaing about it but just standing there watching fans keep flowing in, it must of been over 100 degrees in there, they could atleast of had some air flow, put some air fans in there

There are a number of rinks in NJ that can and do handle large HS crowds Voorhees, Pennsauken, Hollydell, Mt Laurel etc.. I don't think the Flyers Cup wanted to have games in these locations. More games should be spread around among all the leagues represented by Flyers cups. Semis could also be held at Grundy, Iceworks, NE Skatezone to name a few. However I do agree that once you get to the semi-finals one centrally located rink makes sense. It should be picked before the tournament starts so geographic advantages are by coincidence.
Since WCE beat the Top Seed Henderson, does that now make them the Top Seed in the FC? or was that just a IceLine special rule for the in-house tourney?
No the FC tournament does not re-seed. They are still the #8 seed and Shawnee is technically the home team in spite of the rink that the game is played at.

During the first few years of the Flyers' Cup, the tournament was held at the University of Pennsylvania's Class of '23 rink. That would be a great central location once again. Parking could be an issue, but if games are in the evening then it wouldn't be a problem. Or schools could charter buses which is what many schools do for PIAA state championship games. (I know some will say playing at Penn would be a pain, but look at all the basketball games that are played there without incident.) Security wouldn't be an issue since Penn has their own police/security. On top of that it would be easier for the news media to cover the games.
eashockey -- I'm with you. The "IceLine Special" ICSHL tournement and its ridiculous re-seeding explanations (which varied based on to whom the explanation was being given) were silly. Anyone who believes them should steer clear of Florida land salesmen. According to all of the various explanations, no team from the "right hand" side of the brackets could have possibly ended up as the home team. And we're expected to believe that this was both intentionally done AND fair!!
