Who do you think does the elite 8 rankings for Eastern Pa? If you pick up a Breakaway Scholastic and eliminate the South Jersey teams.....you will have the elite 8's.

We all know who the official stat guy is!!

I just wanted to show what's going on in the West.

East teams better do their homework to avoid another sweep because some of the west team/player stats were impressive.

Pine Richland (AA) and Bethel Park (AAA) are almost flawless.

We went out to the PA High School Showcase over Christmas Break and saw a lot of these teams play. Quaker Valley beat Bethel Park in a shootout in a game where they were outshot something like 45-15. Quaker Valley's goalie was really good. But from what I've seen here opposed to what they had there really wasn't much different, and I dont see why the east shouldn't be very competitive with the west this year.

Well it QV is better then they were last year, and after seeing them beat Penncrest, i don't see any A team beating them this year. Perv Valley being the front runner for that game right now, no offence but I don't think PV is as good as Penncrest was last year, so mathmatically i don't see the east winning A this year, but thats just assuming QV is better or the same as last year.

Was that a AAA Showcase and Quaker Valley played up or is it one division? If QV played up for better competition that was brilliant to prepare for the post season which is most likely why they would be the favorite?

They must be really strong because Bethel Park has some nice stats. Good for them...

keep in mind that tornement could be run like the iceline tornement, players could be missing, different players could be on a roster making the team not pure

i "heard" that O'hara had a few Perk Valley kids when the lost to Malvern in the christmas tornement...

The PA Showcase is one big tournament - no classifications. Quaker Valley lost some guys from last year's team, but they're still strong and right now the team to beat in A -- East or West.

Im pretty sure that Western PA tiers thier teams differently than we do in Eastern PA. Over there, I believe the teams are tiered (A,AA,AAA) strictly by school size, and not whether the school has open enrollment or not. For example, Malvern prep could be a "A" team in western PA. (Although im not positive on their size but I think you get the point). Im not sure whether quaker valley is open enrollment or not, but I know a lot of Western PA "A" teams are. This is why its not suprising out in the West to frequently see "A" teams play and beat "AAA" teams out there, becuase there really isnt much difference between the three tiers in the West. In fact,I dont think they really tier their teams until it comes to Penguins cup time.

True....If Serra Catholic or Bishop McCourt were over here, they would play AAA. GA and Malvern would play 'A' in the west.

I believe Quaker Valley is a public school, however.
