I was just perusing the finer points of high school hockey on the internet and came up with a few questions. First to preface:
What is the deal with the Lower Bucks League? Last year, it seemed as though the league was going to dissolve when the AAA league expanded to home-and-home, and Neshaminy and Pennsbury joined the Suburban League (which aligns them with all of the other high school sports in Suburban-One). About 2 weeks ago there was a posting on the LB website that said that HGP, Judge, Ryan, Pbury, and Nesh all "abandoned" the league and all that was left was Burlington (nj), Truman, and C.E.C. Then a day later the site was back to normal, as if nothing had ever changed. Now there are current schedules for all levels of league members (ie varsity) etc. Now my question is, is the Lower Bucks back? I mean, they have standings in there with HGP, Judge, Ryan, C.E.C, and North all at varsity. But if you go to ICSHL.org, all of these same teams are listed in divisions there (AAA or PCL Blue). Are these teams in both leagues? If North Catholic Varsity beats Judge JV (the third team) next week, do they get points in the LBCSHL varsity standings? how does this work? I feel like I am taking crazy pills. Will Jeff Nolan call games? Will the commissioners cup be held like the normal dragged out affair that it has become or will it be a short and sweet invitational? anyone know about this? just wondering. |

Jimmy18, A similar thing exists with 3 of the PCL blue teams that are also in Suburban (Wood, McDevitt and LC). These three teams are playing what appears to be a full schedule against the suburban schools in addition to the PCL blue teams, where of course CEC and North are not playing the other three Lower Bucks AAA teams. (Note that in the team schedules, North and CEC are shown as playing Malvern JV (assumed to be their JVAAA team) as non-league games - I would assume these would count in their "standings")
So to add to your questions. Is there a lower bucks playoff for Varsity??? (I would think not - but it's just a guess) Is there a playoff for the PCL Blue division??? IF so are the three Suburban teams then ineligible to participate in the Suburban league playoffs?? This message has been edited. Last edited by: ralphy, |
