Wilmington 18AA. His team made it to the district championship this year and he played a big part in getting them there!

In case Matt didn't say it loud enough:
CLUB HOCKEY DOESN"T MATTER FOR HIGH SCHOOL GOALIE OF THE YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!! Can we please defer to Matt on who should be nominated for this award since I'm pretty darn sure he is one of the most unbiased, knowledgable people of HIGH SCHOOL hockey and goaltenders in the area. Boraske33,-- your a nice player and I'm not denying your abilities and have seen you play on several occasions. But, how many goalies are nominated for the NHL Vezina Trophy with winning percentage, save percentage and GAA like yours? Not many. Like it or not, whether your in the NHL or high school, the team your on and it's success or lack there of plays a factor in the process of picking the "best". Is it fair? Probably not. But it's the way it is. |

Johnny, you've entered the discussion a bit late. I was never arguing for myself here, I wouldn't do that, only for understanding of the poll and how the goalies who made the list actually made it. As for the club hockey reference, I think most people who know anything about high school hockey know and agree that club hockey should not play a factor in this award choosing process (a point we came to on page 1) and hockey44 was just generally curious where Tinkoff played and 81mom just provided an answer.
I actually didn't have a great year, I agree with you and that's why I wasn't arguing for myself here. If it may have looked that way, I'd like to clear that up for anyone else. |
