Well outside of Flyers Cup and playoff games I think it really depends on what school you play for and what school your play against. Certain players play harder against certain teams and having a big crowd makes a difference. So it usually comes down to formed rivrales. I’ll name some of the games I know draw big crowds and are usually close games. Will mostly be ICSHL teams since that’s what I know best.
Downingtown East Vs. Downingtown West Obvious reasons battle of Downingtown WC East Vs. West Chester Henderson Vs. West Chester Rustin These games draw big crowds because many of the kids know each other since its all-1 township and they are all played in the township at Ice Line. Ridley Vs. Interboro Thanksgiving Game is always packed, big tradition, packed house at the Skadium and game misconducts are usually likely. Archbishop Ryan Vs. Holy Ghost Prep Catholic school rivalry, lots of kids know each other from grade school days, always a packed house and can get rough Cardinal O’Hara Vs. Bonner Usually packed, same deal as Ryan-HGP most of the kids know each other from grade school Radnor Vs. Conestoga Rivalry in almost every sport because the townships are next to each other, Radnor doesn’t get as many fans as they used to but ‘Stoga always has a good amount and the players are always pumped to play each other. Malvern Vs. Shanhann Another Catholic school battle Haverford School Vs. Episcopal Academy HUGE local rivalry in all sports, neither team usually has a lot of fans at hockey games but when this game was played on Thanksgiving the Skadim was always packed. Kennett Vs. Unionville Rivalry in all sports. Germantown Academy Vs. LaSalle Student Vs. The Pupil. Wally used to coach under Gump and just couldn’t seem to beat him the past few years until this year but it’s usually a close game. LaSalle Vs. St Joe’s Prep Battle of the big private catholic schools, the students seem to HATE each other and always play each other tough. St Joe’s Prep Vs. Cardinal O’Hara More of a football rivalry since O’Hara usually wins the hockey games but still players seem to get up for the game. I think a rivalry formed between Conestoga and Haverford High after that Flyers Cup Semi final game, so we’ll have to see where that goes. |

when any of the top 6 lower bucks teams play, its a very good game, no matter what team has more talent, anyone can be upset.

I played against 11 of the 20 Flyers Cup AA teams over this year, and top 3 toughest I though were:
1. Haverford 2. Pennridge 3. Pennsbury |

The Question was "hardest team to play against" NOT best rivalries This message has been edited. Last edited by: Matt Sacks, |

I would have to say that springfield was the hardest team to play against because they are physical...henderson is hard to play against but its obvious who the best players are and their D wasnt as strong as most

For hockey22...
Can we please stop with the trash talking of the Henderson Defence? I've been reading about how soft they were all through the Flyers Cup and States. There were 6 defencemen led by BJ Blaker that include Andrew Donovan, James Anderson, Cory Speroff, Brian MacNeill and Joe Carlin. Finally MVP Rob Mattern stopped them when it counted. Everyone played in all the games. When the really important games happened, they all still played. When the dust settled after the Flyers Cup, and the State Championship the defensive team allowed in only 1.8 goals while facing 112 shots. That's better than any of the other teams accomplished isn't it? I would say that Henderson was very hard to play against because they didn't let anyone score while pounding everyone with a 5.3 goals for average. |

but they still averaged over 3 goals a game against them, i don't think thier D was bad by any means but it was not one of the best Defenses in the "A" division, but hey they have a flyers cup and a state title and that is really what matters

Henderson's defense can't be all that bad, they are the State Champions!
Congrads to them... Jim Hazelton |

Ya their D is good i wasnt trash talking the D i was saying that some defenses are harder to play against. When you cant get shots that usually makes the team hard to play against. This isnt about the best teams, like Henderson, its about the hardest to play against.
