Does anyone else think that Steve Sandora (#4 - Defenseman) got snubbed on the all-tournament team? I mean he really stepped up his play in the Flyers Cup tournament, and even though he didn't have many points, he was a key component in the victory over LaSalle. Olivieri and Justin Stewart won the award, but I think Sandora could've bumped either one of them out. Granted, Stewart had a lot of points -- but Swahl said before the game that he is really a forward just moved back to defense -- and he was in the box a TON.

I still give the edge to Stewart, but i could see that Sandora should have gotten it over Oliveari, maybe points were a factor in deciding between those two

i thought olivieri was the most talented defenseman in aaa hockey this season. then he put up 7 points in 2 games, even though ryan didnt go far. i dont think you can take him off. stewart played everywhere, and got points playing down low on the pp. he isnt a true defenseman. if anyone was going to be added as a defenseman, it would be in stewarts place.

Hmm i didn't see Ryan play as much as you, but from what i saw Dan Lassik and Stefan were the two most solid d-men in AAA, i wasn't all that impressed with Olivieri, even though stewarts not a true d-man, in HS he plays defense so i see how he got the award for that.

yeah, lassik is outstanding. olivieri was ryans whole team. any offense they created was because of him. hes solid defensively too. maybe not as solid as lassik, but at the high school level, i thought olivieri was better offensively. i just never saw it from gigliotti. good player yes, hes not in lassik or olivieri's league though.

You could make an argument for Cottle, I think he led the tournament in points if I'm not mistaken. But it just seemed like you noticed Latta more out there

mattern, latta, or cottle could have all earned mvp of the tourney... mattern just played outstanding however and came up with some huge stops.... 33 in the final
