I'd add Upper Dublin's Wes Duncan to the "A" All-Tournament team. UD scored six goals in their first ever appearance and Duncan assisted on one and scored five! Third leading scorer in just 2 games! Put him on either Henderson's team or Kennett's and he has 10 goals and many assists.

It's tough to get on there if your team didnt get as far as the semi's.

The only exception is Olivieri from Ryan, the other 17 players all helped their team get as far as the semi-finals.

that's a good point. I guess there are some excellent individual players on teams without as many horses to help carry their teams as far.

The award is not for how well you play in the season its for how you play in the tornement. He played better in the tornement than he did all season which helped win his teama flyers cup. I think Latta should have gotten the MVP, but all the teams look right in my opinion

i have also talked to latta about the mvp award, and he couldnt be happier for Mattern, and that shows just the kind of character Latta is, unselfish.

Yeah the award could have gone to Latta Cottle or Mattrn, henderson is the lowest seed tema i can remember winning a flyers cup and they played a great game.

There ranking really didnt show their ability... they had defeated kennett 7-3, and tied them 3-3... so the #6 seed for henderson was debatable

Actually, yo-yo has a point on Wes Duncan. I was looking at the past all-tourney teams and have to ask about the 2005 "A" All-Tournament team. Hate to bring up ancient history, but this jumped off the page at me:

How did Gina Kearns (1G, 2A = 3pts.)of Interboro make that team? Nice women's player? Yes. Was she dominant in that tournament? No. Deserve a spot on that team? No way! It also was the only all-tourney team with 4 forwards. What was that about?????

Sorry, but it just struck me as odd.

You can't get caught up in the selection of these things. They are voted on by PEOPLE, not selected by STATS. That makes it a political choice of peoples opinion. Not knocking it...I think it is fine. If you look through-out the league, I'm sure you will find lots of great players that could be selected for these kinds of awards.

I was talking to a coach of another team before the game and he goes "If Henderson wins it won't be because of their goalie". Turns out Mattern shut up any doubters that were out there with a phenomenal showing in the Flyers Cup final. This MVP award could have gone either way (Latta and Mattern) and either one would have been fine. Good for Latta being unselfish and being happy for his teammate when it was an award he clearly could have won as well
