Game ended 3-3. I didn't get there until towards the end of the 2nd and La Salle was up 3-1. La Salle gave up a goal on a rebound then another on a power play after Berkle had taken a dumb ppenalty on a retaliatory slash after he was hooked. Went into the third 3-3. La Salle came out good in the first shift of the third, then slacked a little, killed off a penalty then nearly scored on a power play of their own. i thought the refs were pretty bad late in the game, missing an obvious interference, a roughing, and the Delbarton defenseman deliberately pushing the net off after their goalie was down and out late in the game. Delbarton definitely matched La Salle's speed, and hung a forward cherry picking most of the night. Probably a fair result, game was pretty even. Pyne had major trouble with rebounds, leaving many of them in the slot, though.

great game. first period was even with delbarton having two pp that gave them the shot lead. lasalle jumped all over them early in the second with nice goals by zoldy, berkle both on setups by wallin. third goal was beauty by tyson off a behind the back pass from schmidt from behind the net. DB responded well and the penalty and subsequent pp goal changed the momentum . third period was back and forth with lasalle carrying the play near the end. refs missed an obviousdelay of game penalty which would have given lasalle a two man advantage with 2 minutes to go. db size down low bothered lasalle and in the end both teams can be proud of a hard earned 3-3 tie.

One thing I missed - Delbarton had a defenseman playing the right point who was excellent. It was impossible to know any of their players because they wore practice jerseys for some reason, but this kid was a big kid who skated and moved the puck exceptionally. He was one of a couple with no number on his back. On La Salle's end, I thought Varley was their best defenseman tonight and logged a majority of ice time. He's not much in the offensive end but is slow and steady in the back. It appeared during the penalty kill with 5 or 6 minutes left he got a slash or a shot in the wrist but he finished strong.

Its Thad Williams, hes like 6-3, and very physical, definitely stuck out. He had some very nice plays and hits.

Nerbak(38) was the best player on the ice tonight, extremely talented, and does all the little things and plays very smart. Pirovano and Agostino were the other 2 on that top line which played very well.

Providence commit Alex Velischek did not play.

It was a very good game. Without getting into much detail, Lasalle started out strong, but once Delbarton got moving, they were the better team. They are bigger and much more physical then Lasalle, and just as fast if not faster. I think Pyne was the better goalie tonight, which was the difference.

good points. velicheck is out for awhile with mono. he is a differnce maker. thought lasalle had them but let them back in with some foolish plays. db definitely bigger and in the end this took its toll on lasalle's d. forward play on both top two lines was impressive great speed and strong cycling. pyne was an anchor in the net and definitely the better of the two goalies. wish there were more games like this in the area. difficult to watch other games. should be fun to see how they fare this fridayy up at the hill .

Question - this is the first I've seen la Salle this year - are they only carrying a roster of 19 players, or was someone missing? Last year they only dressed 16 or 17 at the end of the season, which I thought was kind of arrogant and a big mistake, especially with three junior teams they could have pulled from. I think that especially hurt them in the OT loss to HGP in the Flyers Cup. The first thing I counted at the game tonight was only 19 players dressed - I may have miscounted, but I think someone was missing.

The la Salle Hill game last year was exceptional - ended in a 2-0 loss for the explorers, but they outplayed Hill School all night and were killed by Hill's goalie last year, who was a monster. he had to be about 6'3" and covered mostly all of the net - not just big, but very quick and skilled too. I think it was a game La Salle outshot Hill School 40-20 or so, but nonetheless couldn't get anything past the goaltender.

Lasalle wont have to worry about Watson this year, because last I heard hes in the EJ. He was a high USHL draft pick, and im surprised he didnt stick on a team, despite only being a 90.

lasalle is carrying 10 forwards plus 6 d andthe2 goals. three lines ibelieveare plenty for the high school game ofonly15minutes especially when the boys are playing 18 min at the midget level. bigger [roblem for lasalle has been the month off between theirlast meaningful game and the start of the playoffs. shshl failure to develop a true AAA division always leaves lasalle bereft of competition leading up the the flyers cup. a distinct disadvantage.

Seems like La Salle is trying to combat against that this year by playing in the Trinity Pawling tournament late in the season. And if Hill lost the goaltender they had last year La Salle should win handily tomorrow. That game was an out and out shooting gallery last year with Hill scoring a fluky goal to go up 1-0 and then catching a kid coming out of the box on a breakaway for the second. The goaltender was a stud though - made a coupel acrobatic saves, but for the most part played great angles, was in great position, controlled his rebounds, and covered everything since his defenseman were running around most of the night.
