Koolaid,
After reading your post in the jinx topic I looked at the scoresheet from that game and got quite a surprise. 26 penalties handed out with 0:00 on the clock in the third. 25 penalties called up to that point I'd loved to hear what happend... |

I don't know why it happened but interestingly enough the same two teams play tomorrow night. sort of as Neshaminy will be 8 players and a coach short and Pennsbury will be short 3 players and a coach.

For the most part the "game" was well played, with both teams working and hitting hard. Most of the penalties called during the game were a result of the new rules (nothing really dirty).
However, when the game was over, it got really nasty behind the Neshaminy net. I beleive that it started with a Neshaminy player and a Pensbury player pushing each-other and escalated to an all-out brawl. It was an ugly scene on and off the ice. As a member of the Neshaminy coaching staff, I was ashamed of how the ending played out; it was a truly emabarrising moment and a sad ending to a really hard fought and competitive game. The two teams play each other again tomorrow night (Thursday), but we will be short a number of guys (roughly half our team) as they serve their supsentions. Anyway, it will be good experience for our JV players and a good lesson for those players who have to sit and watch the game from the stands. |

I could be wrong, but I do not beleive that Pennsbury will be short any players / coaches. They played a game earlier this week and have served their suspensions. |

puckhead, will your organization be handing out and additional suspensions to the two boys from your team that were responsible for escalating the mayhem?

Your suggestion that the 2 Neshaminy players are responible for the escalation of the fight is unfair and in my assumption bias. Both teams were equally responsible for this mess and the league will due their part to see that the suspentions are fair. This is not a time to point fingers and assign responisbility! I respectively request that you do not post suggestions on how the Neshaminy coaching staff should coach or descipline our team. These are internal matters and we will choose appropriate and fair measures of descipline. |

puckhead, I have no bias towards any team or players involved in this fight. I know what I saw and who I think was escalating the mayhem. I understand you wanting to protect your players publicly. However, you posted how embarrassing the braw is for you. In addition, all you have to do is look at the posted game recap on the Lower Bucks Web Site and see both teams are not equally responsible.
Since you opened the door, it is reasonable to ask if you or your club are going to hand out and additional suspensions. If you did not want to answer my question, all you had to do was say, "No comment", "the matter will be handled privately" or "It's none of your business". I was not and I am not, trying to tell you how to coach your players. I just asked a question in light of your post. You should not try to discredit my question by suggesting bias. I am sorry I offended you or made you feel deffensive. |

My belief is that both teams were equally resposnible for the fight. Obvisouly we see things a little differently. Remember, there are 3 sides to every story: your side, my side and the right side. Additionally, I do not believe that I was overly defensive in my post as I respectfully asked that you refrain from offering suggesstions on how the coaching staff should descipline our players. You suggested that I should have answered your post with a "No comment", "the matter will be handled privately" or "It's none of your business", but how is that different from stating "These are internal matters and we will choose appropriate and fair measures of descipline." To me, it is the same point just different wording. Anyway, the matter is closed and I apologize that I offended you and made you defensive. This is the last time I will address this topic. My answer to all furture posts regarding the game last week will be... No Comment and It really isn't any of your business. Thanks. This message has been edited. Last edited by: puckhead, |
