This game was 1-1 going into the 2nd, conestoga came out quickly and score one short handed and in the ensuing faceoff HH scored to tie it up, after that it was all HH they score 3 more times before the 3rd i think. After HH went on that scoring barrage conestoga was lucky to crontrol the puck in thier own zone. There was some rough play in the 2nd and words being exchanged between ceartin players, from the stands it looked as if Conestoga was starting it but who knows. One of the Conestoga players put a HUGE hit on a HH player and started celebrating in front of his fans which was pretty low class, something i have not seen from Stoga on the ice this year. Once the thrid period started it seemed as if stoga had given up on the game and just wanted to hit. The HH players were up to the challenge and started deleivring some great hits. For most of the third many stoga players seemed to play on thier heels. When Campli went on a breakaway he took a pretty nasty slash from a ceartin conestoga player, and after that it seemed as if some of the stoga kids were going after Campli, which again is something i haven't seen from stoga this year.
I did not excpet this game to be as one sided as it was and after Stoga got down by 2 goals they just seemed to fall apart at the seams, Either way they were a great team all year and they have a good core of young players so i would excpet to see them back next year. |

I was suprised by the " F YOU STOGA" chants, and your right at iceline they would have been removed. I did see a large group of kids in front of the rink when i left so what you say happened does not suprise me and your right is classless as well, my post only was about what i saw in the game. Just from what i saw any of the unsportsman like conduct came from the Conestoga players (during the game). I personally didn't see the HH fans throw anything on to the ice but i could be wrong on that. I did see a hat and water bottle thrown at the HH team after the game was over from the stoga side though, and during the game "someone" was pointing a lazer pointer in Hazeltons face, i say someone beecause it was coming from the HH side but i would assume that it was a conestoga fan. Sorry if this post seems bias towards HH, i am not affilated with conestoga or HH i am just going by what i saw at the rink.
When i said i expect to see stoga back next year, i didn't mean at the Skatium i ment in the flyers cup semi's. |

HH is a classless act, not only the fans becuase fans do what fans do, but the players on that team. you werent in the game so you have no clue why the game got that intense and physical. from the stands its a whole different story jigga. yes they have the right to b confident due to their extremely good success in the past few years, but they bring it to a whole new level
good luck to Wash Twp and HH in the flyers cup game, it should of great one. |

Jigga,
Don't think Stoga kids were sitting mixed with HH considering Stoga kids were getting spit on at the rink. |

I'm not denying that any of this happened....but why hasn't it been mentioned that 'Stoga fans were throwing bottles on the ice and at the players, during and after the game?
Hkymom, I'm not taking a shot at the entire 'Stoga organization here....but the most classless thing that I saw all night was after Baker hurt his knee on the recieving end of a hit, the 'Stoga player who made the hit went over to pump up the fans and celabrate (loudly) with his team mates while Baker was laying on and being carried off the ice. THAT was disgraceful! |

matt, yes both teams fans were disgraceful and i would agree with you 100% but fans are fans and they get caught up in the atmosphere of everything and go nuts. also the thing that the player did to the fans after the hit was also wrong, but as always said "it takes two to tango" stoga as you have seen never has acted that poorly in a game before all this season. as someone in the game and on the ice i cant tell you that haverford provoked a lot of stuff that happened with their terrible trash talking and cocky behavior the things they said to stoga was offel, i am not sayin stoga is completely innocent but if u ask someone in the game they would probably agree. the game in the end wasnt even hockey and its a shame becuase it had potential for one. but its useless to argue and talk about this cuz its over and done with and both teams had/having a great season

The hit on Baker was early in the second period, well before any of the non-sense happened. Maybe the antics after the hit was the ammunition that ignited everything to follow?

I caught the act of the HH fans in last years Flyers Cup game at Hatfield vs CB South. What a disgrace.
Let's hope they don't embarrass us at States this year. Western PA would love an excuse to hold the games out there every year. |

HKYMOM- Dont ever talk about the skatium like that again, that place is legendary and i hope you do never return to that rink. And second, thats what you get in big games like that, if you dont wana see it, then dont go cuz you cant stop it from happening. Its hockey, not soccer, or baseball so get used to it. maybe your son should be swinging a golf club rather than a hockey stick.

That attitude and the all too frequent displays described...I wasn't there....is why hockey is a minor league sport, routinely outdrawn on TV by Women's college basketball, reruns of poker tournaments and, yes, the weather channel.
Zero tolerance for thuggish behavior on the ice and in the stands is long overdue in high school hockey...not to mention the NHL. |

yes i remember it all starting when the stoga player cheap-shotted baker in the knees and that player started celebrating and the stoga fans cheering. That was pretty low class, and they took it to a whole new level. I also remeber that player attempting to do it to me too, but it didn't work. And after that, one of the players on stogas bench who wasn't dressed reached around the glass and punched our waterboy/manager in the face. Now there's sportsman ship. And about our fans ... maybe they cursed once in a cheer, but they didn't throw bottles, hats, ect. on the ice, shine lazers in players eyes, and cheer when players get hurt. So I am proud of our fans for that. But I thought it was a fun game to play in, very exciting. Well wish us luck for tomorrow. And i guess good luck to you stoga next year? and you too hkymom.

I have to agree with "turd" (cute name). I hate to hear that old saying and I quote "Its hockey, not soccer, or baseball so get used to it." So you are telling me their is no room for sportsmanship in hockey? I strongly disagree. Until the sport cleans up, schools will not sanction hockey as a "school sponsored" sport. I know some kids from our area that play in the NJSIAA (school sanctioned hockey), and from what I've heard that type of behavior is not accepted in that league. Also, congratulations to St. Augustine Prep on winning the NJ Non-public State Championship in the NJSIAA.

This was easily one of the best games I have seen all year. The intensity was simply amazing.

HS hockey will never be sanctioned in PA until coaches control their players, refs control the game, and arenas control the fans.

Agreed!
