Sadly, I am in total agreement with HGP Fan (not sad that I am in agreement with him) just like I said above everyone on here knows I am at big ICSHL supporter but every point he touched on I am in agreement with.
Correct lots of AA club players have the ability to play AAA, but do they all have the abilities to be impact players? Very few. I would say that Cottle and Latta both were impact players on the Flyers AAA team, while Lamont was an impact player at 16AAA for Comcast. So yes Cottle-Latta-Lamont is a very good first line, but remember Lamont is younger and smaller than most of the La Salle team so he would have trouble doing as much damage as he did in 16U and in high school
Now looking at the second line lets say it would be Ignatuk-Zucker-Gaffney, that is a VERY solid high school line right there, even in AAA they would do lots damage. But match that up against Schmidt-Tyson-Denczi it’s not on the same level.
Discussing the defense La Salle’s defense is battle tested against top midget AAA and high school teams and is averaging less than 2 goals a game. Yes, all of the defensemen you named a great high school defensemen but they are used to shutting down at most 2 great forwards per night, now trying shutting down 6 great forwards per night.
I don’t take much by Christmas tournament wins because you never know what school has their all their players. Not that winning the AAA Christmas tournament is not impressive but I think what was more impressive was them winning it without ever playing together as a team, not so much beating the teams they beat. Remember Kennett beat Malvern and Henderson tied them, so its not as if they were a top tier high school team this year.

VFMM are a nice team but not up to the standard Bud has sent to Nationals this decade. Maybe they will surprise at Nationals.
Jigga, there is no better play maker in this area than Billy Gaffney, he's better than very solid. Some players choose not to be on a D1/D3 path, it doesn't mean they are not currently competitive with players who are.

I most certainly agree with you there. quote: Jigga, there is no better play maker in this area than Billy Gaffney, he's better than very solid. Some players choose not to be on a D1/D3 path, it doesn't mean they are not currently competitive with players who are.
While Gaffney is a great playmaker and he has a great finisher to pass the puck to in Ignatuk, I don't think he would be quiet as effective at the midget AAA level.

It is a thousand and they sold out. Plus all the player passes and high school kids that snuck in i would say there was probaly 1150 to 1200 people there.
N it was a joke cause you asked if I have seen them play, which I have. Haha if your actually getting upset about posts on a high school hockey web site maybe we should end this thread.

This argument is a bit off topic from the original post but anyway, according to the manager of the rink, the attendance of the East-Henderson game was around 1200.

Jigga I am not trying to argue because I know that you did see the Flyers Cup number and I am going simply by what I was told. Although the rink manager is a pretty reliable source.

I know this has steered a bit off topic, perhaps this will put it back on topic. I worked two of the combo-West Chester team's game and watched the rest of them because of an injury to another official. They improved every game of the tournament as they became more and more acclimated to each other. I also worked two LaSalle games and watched 3 more throughout the year.
If I had to pick a favorite, I would pick LaSalle but I would have picked the West Chester team to finish 2nd or 3rd at the AA level this past season. In a single game, if the West Chester team had played together all season, they would have a legitimate shot at beating them.
