I find it unbelievable that LaSalle goes out there and beats an undefeated Pine Richland team 9-1 in the state championship game. Now that the season is over, and LaSalle has won both the Flyers Cup and the State Championship, where do they rank among the best high school hockey teams in PA history? I imagine they have to be pretty close to the top.

I can't comment on the best in State history because I've only been watching HS hockey since 2000.
The Best team I have seen since 2000 was the 2003 Peters Township squad. I would rank the 2008 La Salle team at #2. |

Of course. I recognize many of those names from the last NHL All-Star game.

Matt - do you know how many other teams have won ICSHL/similar league title, Flyers or Penguins cup and the state title in the same year besides WC East? Thanks. Curious to know if this happens fairly often.

What is the point of this comment? Someone asked who was on the team so I posted the roster. |

I have to agree with you Matt. I watched that Peters team against HGP in the state final and they were scary good. They were constantly taking penalties in that game and they still outplayed HG when they were shorthanded.
And they were a cocky bunch to boot.... |

That Peters team was scary good.
Clackson brothers both play at Western Michigan although I just read the Matt (who was drafted by your Flyers just signed and will be playing for the Phantoms). Chris is still at WMU. Christian Hanson (son of Dave Hanson of Slapshot fame) and Christian Minella both play at Notre Dame where the Fighting Irish will play in next week's Frozen Four. Rob Madore is in Chicago of the USHL and will be going to D1 Vermont in the fall. As Batman pointed out, a number of others also played D1 and most of the others played D1 club. |

Anyone know if the aaa game was broadcast in the west?
|

It was on a Pittsburgh AM radio station. No TV that I know of. |

you can listen to any of the games at this site - they were on TV at the Stadium Grille later that night - you will have to ask them what station it was but you can listen here...
