Dumpandchase/themichigan/amarak/RichardHead, What has anyone done here but cite specific actions that have been taken by the people who run the west?
If you would like to cite specific instances where the statements that have been made on this subject are incorrect, please feel free to do so. If you cannot supply any instances or facts to back up what you are saying then please stop trying to deflect that you were called on the carpet for slandering someone else on this site.
Have a nice day.

I'd never mess with your food Jeff. Besides I know how much your looking forward to that speech. PS. I've still got my Joker

sm 14 You were always a good poker player, but not as good as RK and Matt. They cleaned my clock in Hershey and then again at the Pgh Marriott, while Big Jim was wandering the neighborhood. Fortunately, we take the Jokers out of the Dek for Texas Hold'm.....we don't have time for any speeches

Not as bad as my clock was cleaned out in Hershey that year. I bought back in from you so that I could hold the honor of being both the first AND second person out of the tourney!

Big Jim is my hero ....a legend of sorts!
The best ever was in Haverford at the Skatium in 2001 after the Serra - Springfield game [this was when I was on the playoff committee]. I was broadcasting a game with Jeff Nolan and one of the sweethearts climbed the scaffolding because they wanted to have a hearing on the Serra - Springfield game. I told them to get off the scaffold and leave me alone.
Then a student from Beaver threw his shoe on the ice and they wouldn't give it back. These people wanted the kid prosecuted and myself and Rich Caplin stepped in and got the shoe back to this kid who was excited about Beaver winning the States and just got a little out of hand.
As I said have fun and we'll head to the Haven up the street after for some wings!

I would be happy to host a Poker Tournament about 45 minutes down the road in Delmont at Rick's Sports Bar.....to reinstitute a tradition

Rizzo's is in Crabtree which is about 35-40 minutes away from Johnstown off of Route 22 and another 15 and you are in Delmont

The best was in 2004 when JG wrote the check for the trophies, took them and then stopped payment on the check.....that's a smart businessman

Does anyone know the history of the trophies ?
When I was on the committee from 1998 to 2001, the trophies were in bad shape with teams missing etc etc. I did the research and provided the names of the players, coaches of all of the championship teams dating back to 1975. The trophies were refurbished and made their debut in 2000.
The West paid to have them redone and the East reimbursed the West for half of the cost. I actually saw the reimbursement and who the check was made out to.
The point is that the philosophy originally was to have the schools take the trophy for display in the school for one year and return it the the playoff committee the following year prior to the State Championships. Therefore the school whether East or West would be able to enjoy the winning of the State Championship. In addition, a replica would be provided for the long term to keep forever.
It's a shame to be collecting dust in a crate.

I guess they never got that HS Hockey shrine built at the Mellon Center that was touted in one speech.
