By my count their should be ~17-19 teams but could be as many as 22 in the league. They include:

1. Quakers1
2. Quakers2
3. Warwick1
4. Warwick2
5. Ducks1
6. Ducks2
7. Ice Dog1
8. Ice Dog2
9. Ice Dog3
10. Haverford
11. Exton Kings
12. Reading Royals
13. York
14. Glaciers
15. Blazers
16. Blast
17. Wissahickon
18. Delco
19. Lancaster

Valley Forge, Old York Road, and Hershey also projected AA teams but I don't see how they could support one. Delco and Lancaster may also be a stretch. The challenge will be the new rule in place this year which requires that if you have two or more teams at the U16 or U18 levels that one has to play AA and one A; although I do believe you can still petition down.

My list has 17. Exton, Glaciers, Blast and Wissahickon are not on the list. Hershey and Cap City are.

Kings will have their 16UA-1 team (mostly) moving up to AA. VFC had 2 & 1/2 teams worth of 16U players at tryouts. Old York Roads 16UA-1 Champs from last year broke up.

so we'll have a 30+ game schedule just for league play?

No... The league will be split into two divisions. Each team will play the two games against teams in their division and one game against the opposing division. Hopefully, they try to even out the divisions somewhat.

I got news for you they are not going to try to even anything out. The Divisions will be done by a complex formula called alphabetical order (maybe with some geography thrown in). Also the clubs with multiple teams will be split up as much as possible. Besides how would you even them out? How would anybody know who has what from last year? I could make some good guesses but it would be just that a guess.

why couldn;t they just go by last years standings or some other strategy? alphabetical order doesn't seem right for a reason.

So assuming someone wanted to take the time to do that (which they won't) What are you proposing ? Top half in one division and bottom half in the other? Or mix em' up? Again these teams could be radically different one year to the nexT depending on many things including how many second year players they had last year. Some of these teams could have completely moved on to U18. What ever they do someone will be unhappy and claim it was fixed to benefit the Quakers LMAO!!

ok, here is the deal. some teams because of the 65% rule are mandated to go AA and that is at all levels. as far as how they break out the teams in the divisions -explain this- look at last years 18AA divisions! york, quakers 1, haverford, ice dogs (east)

hershey, blast, ducks1 (west)

can someone explain why quakers, hawks, ice dogs had to play york (defending champs) twice let alone travel there????

and hershey did not? let alone all the top teams in the east had to play hershey in hershey with those horrible refs???
you look at the lower level teams in both divisions did not have a shot at all. maybe it will be easier doing by the alphabet; but knowing the powers that be in the DVHL it is not going to happen! look at who is on the board there:

quakers prez, former ice dogs prez, connection from the blast and so forth............

Nice theroy but lets try this. List the teams in alphabetical order.

Blast, Blazers, Ducks1, Ducks2, Glaciers, Haverford, Hershey, Ice Dogs, Lancaster, Predators, Quakers 2 , Quakers 1 , VFC, Warwick, Wissahickon, York

Now lets split them up alphabetically but do it every other one.

West: Blast, Ducks 1 , Glaciers, Hershey, Lancaster, Quakers 2, VFC, Wissahickon.

East: Blazers,Ducks 2, Haverford, Ice dogs, Predators, Quakers 1, Warwick, York

Gee imagine that. This the same as the Divisions from last year.

That would make 16AA this season look something like this:

Division 1 :Blazers, Ducks1, Delco, Hershey, ID2, Lancaster, Quakers2, Warwick1, York

Division2: Vipers, Ducks2, Hawks, ID1, ID3, Quakers 1, Reading, Warwick2.

If you wanted to advance at M18AA the last two years you had to go through York, a hard working skilled diciplined team, the total opposite of a bunch of big mouth undiciplined mess like Haverford. Go out and play the game and stop belly-aching. Do the game some jutice for once.

When they declare (which they didn't do at the last meeting) we will throw them in here. Which will change everything because its alphabetical , every other one going to a different division.

You have a pretty big mouth for someone complaining about big mouths. Also try using a dictionary or spell check before you start using grown up words like "discipline" or (lol) "justice."

Oh, btw, we beat and tied your "diciplined and skilled" team twice in the last two seasons, only losing to them once. Kinda craps on your theory, doesn't it?

But they have a Nationals quarter/maybe semi final (don't remember)appearence and a district apprearence to show for it so no one will do any crapping on anyone else.

Joe, who are you to decide who craps on who? Big Grin

I am just tired of people referring to us as an obnoxious, cocky team who did nothing but take penalties all year and blew their chances as a result of poor discipline. I'm sorry, but that is not the case. I played with a great group of kids the last four years, and I can't stand when someone comes on here (who can't even spell) and spews out biased bull like EH's last post.

Mandell and probably even myself have said some things we shouldn't have on here, but we are hardly indicative of the entire team. I can't tell you why we didn't get it done the last few years (we actually did get to 16AA District Championships - everyone seems to forget that) but whatever the reason, it wasn't due to lack of discipline or commitment or any of that nonsense everyone (people who have ZERO first hand experience with the team and the kids) loves to throw around here.

It just gets old, and it just gets annoying. Thanks.
