hockeyheads appears to be on to something. You would think that with the time the powers-to-be in the DVHL spent/wasted on setting up the 18AA divisions (what map were they using?) and schedules they would be better off spending it on resolving controversial issues such as what happened to Haverford when they played Hershey the last 2 years at Hershey getting 23 penalties last year followed by 25 this year resulting in 2 losses for Haverford. Oh, when Hershey played Haverford at the Skatium last year, Haverford won 5-2. Haverford did not get a return match this year because of the mysterious East / West Division setup.

Look at the top teams losses in the east quakers 1 lost to york (east) tied Haverford (east) twice and tied the blast (west). York lost to quakers 1 (east) and haverford(East) and tied haverford (east and ice dogs(east).the blast and hershey beat each other so that west home/home series cancels out. but hersheylost to York(east) and quakers 1(east) and tied ducks 1(west). blast lost to 2 east teams: haverford and warwick and tied quakers 1(east). finally, haverford's losses are to ice dogs and blazers(both east) and hershey(West"fluke")and ties against east teams: york, quakers 1 (twice), and bristol and a tie to lancaster(west).
After all of this what league shows up more being stronger against top teams? EAST! Even weaker teams like the ice dogs, blazers, and warwick can beat some of the top teams.

has anyone brought this up to the powers that be in the DVHL? Would they do anything with this information or will they sweep it under the rug like they do with everything else? This was evident even during that so called Midget Showcase! look at those scores, the whole season could have been re-arrainged at that point!!!

The teams effected by this should step up and take this to the top if it means all the way to USA Hockey. It's very clear something fishy is going on. The way this league was set up, it seems you will only have two of the best teams actually entering Districts because the others had a weaker schedule. I looked at the scores and teams like Warwick and the Ice Dogs could have made the 4th spot if the divisions were balanced.

You could say the odd team out due to schedule is Haverford (over the Blast), but if Haverford doesn't lose 4 points to Blazers/Lancaster they are still right there (could make the point that the loss to the icedogs was an upset too, but the icedogs are a pretty good team). That could have made tomorrow's Blast/York game a real big game for possibly the last playoff position.

Icedogs were still in the hunt until the first weekend in January, when they had big loses to the Blast & Warwick. Warwick is the most puzzling team, a very talented .500 team, did beat the blast, but lost to quakers 2. With the win over the blast, they are what 1 - 7 - 0 against the top 5, don't see them sneaking in 4th with a balanced schedule.

I was looking at the DVHL website and it seems if the Blast lose two of their three remaining games the Hawks would get the 4th seed based on the head to head tie breaker? Although it's highly unlikely that would be a funny turn of events.

so your point is to go to usa hockey? that would probably be a little hard since the prez of dvhl and quakers are on that board too!

Lancaster is an interesting team. Shane Coyle plays for them, if anyone remembers him from Haverford High.

They crapped on us, at least. It's a long shot, I know, but we are *hoping* York beats the Blast as they should and Lancaster somehow upsets the Blast like they did with us. If the Blast beat the Firebirds, it's pretty much over. I don't see an upset from the Ducks 2.

Lancaster only lost 3-0 to York. They beat the Icedogs 5-4. They tied Haverford, and the Blast only beat them 4-3 back in November.

If York and Lancaster could pull off wins...

ducks 1 would not be an upset and can not get in. they will have 2 wins, against quakers 2 and vfc....but they still have that game against quakers 1 and hershey. there is that chance but do you really think they can beat the quakers 1 and hershey? let alone ducks 1 play in hershey. that would be interesting to see how that whole thing plays out with the refing up there! i guess we know what the answer would be to that. here is something to think about! do you think york would throw a game to keep haverford out of districts? blast lost their great goalie, ice dogs lost ritchey to the little flyers.

No, I don't think Ducks 1 will be able to beat the Quakers or Hershey, especially in Hershey.

Would York throw the game today against the Blast to keep Hawks out of Districts? I think the Quakers would do something like that (after their bs at Nationals two years ago), but I doubt York would.

I'm a little fuzzy on the details, but there was a four way tie or something and so they decided a "four way shootout" was the way to break it.

For some reason, least goals against advanced or something like that. To that effect, the Quakers arranged an "agreement" with another team. "We won't score on you if you don't score on us," basically. I forget how it actually all ended up.

Not sure about other players on the Blast but they've been struggling without their #1 goalie. Former Hawk Shane Coyle plays for Lancaster. Hawks have the Colonials at Penn tomorrow without Slagis, Campli, and Carotenuto.
