Ha, yes we did. What happened was we tied York and then the Quakers lost to someone else and that was it, we were out by one point. The following day we played Warwick (2-13-2) and lost since well, read some of my earlier posts. Obviously we should have won that game and missed by one but instead got three suspensions.

Assuming the Hawks roster on their web site is current, can someone please explain why Chris Campli played 18U AA this year? He's a year out of high school and I thought that kid had the talent to play on a good junior team, possibly even a NCAA DIII team.
He went to Penn State Delco and played baseball for them..apparently he's better at baseball than hockey, I know. He still wanted to play hockey though, and came back to the Hawks where a lot of his friends were still playing.

Boraske: After watching you play, reading your posts and talking to people that know you, I have to agree with Top Cat and say that you are an outstanding goalie and an even better teammate. Only 2 goals on 4 5 on 3’s is very impressive. I’ve been just as surprised as you with your record this year, and the roster you guys have over there.
As for Reffing with the Hawks: The hawks have a reputation that precedes them and that is that if the game isn’t going the Hawks way they will just start cheap shooting and fighting. This isn’t something that was started by this year’s team or any team recently. But the refs do know what types of teams they are reffing and they won’t give a team with a bad reputation the benefit of the doubt. So when on ice scuffles do occur its only expected and only further pounds that stereotype into a referee’s head. You mentioned something about a parent having words with a player. No matter what is said all the player should do is just walk away. That is the only way he will come off as the better person, regardless of his temper he needs to realize while he is still at the rink he is still apart of his team and his actions bode not only for himself but for his team as well. Last year after a central penn Hawks games. One of the CP parents spit on Jason Hazelton. Even though many words were exchanged mostly between hawks and CP parents Jason pretty much just laughed at the guy, which is the best possible scenario in that type of situation. This reputation of the Hawks is not by fault of any of the current or recent players at all, its been around for awhile and that type of thing is hard to escape no matter what. Someone mentioned Campli playing 18AA. I think that is about the right level for him, I think he most likely gets more games playing midget than he would at Penn State Delco but the practice time slots are much better. But I don’t really think he would have been a D3 NCAA player, he wasn’t even one of the top 6 forwards for the Jr Flyers Jr. B last year.

Forget about Hawks, Quakers or for that matter any other team. Historically whenever anybody has to play an important game in Hershey you can bet they will have their inbread referees whipping around making sure the home team gets their points. This is something that has been going on up there for years.
The Hershey tradition will continue until the DVHL President steps in and finally for once does her job and put and end to it. If you are Hershey and have the refs in your pocket why shouldn't you keep cashing in? They know the DVHL will just use some lame excuse to blow it under the carpet.
Shame on all of you for playing in that corrupt stupid league.. Just FYI, this wouldn't happen in AAA without a thorough investigation.

It happens in all leagues but in the AAA I have seen protest taken more seriously and rulings over turned. It may not be perfect but it was a heck of a lot better then the DVHL tactic of using every excuse in the book not to take care of an obvious case of cheating.
This is the leagues obligation to investigate and attack this type of nonsense.

Without bringing up specific incidents, let's just say there seems to be more accountablility with the AAA and Junior Levels when it comes to fishy issues. They investigate issues then take action when needed regardless if it involves a player, coach or referee. ( And yes Zam before you get started, Referees do screw up just like players and coaches, nobody's perfect)

I am.. not surprised but a little taken aback that so many people outside of our orgnization have had problems with Hershey officiating.
I cannot believe that with so much discontent surrounding that rink and its officials, they continue to go on and continue to rip teams off unchallenged.
Sad thing is there is absolutely 0 chance of the DVHL doing anything to help here. Why? The DVHL does nothing, ever. The Midget 18AA, their top league, didn't even have an All Star Game.

Because the Pres. and her mates would have to come out of hiding and actually do something.
You can't help to wonder what was going on with them at the start of the season?
1. 18AA was split into East/West Divisions. Hershey and the Delaware Ducks were is in the West and York,Haverford and the Quakers in the East? What map was she using? Hmmmm? What was the purpose? Why not just have everyteam play a home and home?
2. The horrific showcase at the start of the season? What a shamm, waste of money that was.

I don't know if they're cheating. I really think it is about who they get to ref the games. In this area there are plenty of rinks, teams, and games as a whole. There are only a couple of rinks out there with fewer teams. So you get a handful of refs that have family playing, former coaches on the bench, friends that might still be playing. It's not like around here where you could ref for months not running into a single person or team you've played for. That's personally why I think there's such lop-sided reffing in hershey.
None of the above. All of that was excellent, and we had plenty of talent like you said. We competed against and beat the best teams in our league. York went to Nationals last year, and we beat them 4-0 in their home rink.
The problems came when we played some of the middle of the packers. Some we crushed like we should, others.. for whatever reason, we came out slow against and weren't able to battle back.
This happened four games.. Blazers, Blazers, Lancaster, Icedogs. Why did it happen four times? Can't tell you, but 8 more points would have gotten us into Districts, that's all I know.

Sounds like you can only blame yourselves for not making the extra effort? Either way if what everybody is saying about the Hershey scam, that game should at least be replayed with some league officials present. Regardless of what points you accumulated in other games, there is no excuse for cheating.

York is going to beat the Blast, then the Blast need to accumulate 3 more points in their final two games to total 34 points and clinch fourth place in the league. Haverford needs to win their last two games to finish with 33. If the Blast don't get at least 3 points in their final three games, they will miss out due to a tie breaker. I doubt very much they will win, as right now, their place in Districts isn't even secure.
