We beat the Jags pretty easily 5-2 but I'm surprised Hershey beat them 8-4. They just didn't seem that amazing to me, especially since they were playing with the refs on their side.
Hawks vs Icedogs - Saturday 5:15 @ The Skatium. Should be interesting.

You guys do understand that the Jags have been using between 5 and 7 minorAA players in non-league games since HS started, right? and the Hawks game they were missing their top line. Everything will come out in the wash in Districts. Best teams will move on.
Snipe..i think the way the division is going over there says alot about those teams. Any one of them can beat anybody else if you don't come ready to go from the opening faceoff. I think they were all the best on that day we played them. None are a slouch, and that goes for the odd team out in that division. we play the blast this weekend, and i'm sure they'll be as tough as the rest. As far as the NJYHL being not as strong, my belief is that that is a direct result of the DVHL staying together and fighting for that last spot right up until two weeks before Districts. that's huge, team-wise. the NJYHL is done it's season, at 18uaa, for all intents and purposes,12/15. The sanctioned HS season starts, and that's where the kids focus is, until Districts roll around. The challenge becomes for the NJ clubs to get those top teams ready to go in a very short time while the DVHL teams are ready to go. I think Districts and the following weekend are going to be some of the most competitive hockey in that division in some time. I think 8 solid teams are gonna be there.
Not sure yet. I know the Devils last year had to forfeit their spot in playoffs because of conflict. All the teams from the NJYHL in the playoffs have kids in the top conference in NJ (Gordon). Haven't seen a Gordon Cup or State Playoff schedule yet, plus, depending on how far teams go, clubs don't know to last minute who may make the club game.
I gather, I never said anything about his excuses for losing. I was just curious if they'd actually beaten any teams from the DVHL, and after hearing the Blast lost 10-1 (idc how depleted they were, there is no way they're beating the Hawks 10-1 if they met in Districts) it just reinforces the fact that the wrong team really ended up as the odd ones out. Though I have to compliment the Blast for finishing clutch and winning their final two games 25-4.

Kiddingly, I like the Haverford Hawks based on the fact that they beat or tied 2 of the 4 Jersey teams and beat and/or tied 3 of the 4 PA teams (I am not counting the Farce of a game at Hershey). But if they had taken care of business earlier in the season winning some games they tied, they would still be playing. Then again, there is the issue of the East vs West divisonal setup but we won't go there again. It should be great hockey though; I just wish Iceworks had not scheduled 3 of the 4 games at the same time on 3 different rinks.
