Gentlemen:

The Eagles are looking for Players. We have 2 full scholarship and 2 spots where players need to pay for housing.

The Varkaus Eagles were the first ever American Professional Team to Play Professional Hockey in Scandinavia or Europe in 2007-08 season. The major objective of the program is to provide athletes with the opportunity for a free education while playing in a pro hockey. The Eagles will play in the Minor Pro League in Finland in the Second Division. Most players are not paid in the Second and First Divisions in Finland. Most team provide players good jobs. The Eagles do not pay players.


The Eagles compiled a record of 16 wins, SOW 4, SOL 4, and Losses 8 in it first season. The Eagles won the Second Division Group four championship but failed to move up in the promotional series in Suomi-Sarja. The Eagles Lead the league in attendance both at home and on the road.

The Eagles will be making many upgrades to the program in next few weeks. Please see web site for details.

Candidates Should Process the following Characteristics:

Be able to Excel at the Division Three Level of College Hockey.

We need guys who good speed and hands.

We need players who are hard working and dedicated.

The players need to be goal directed toward school and hockey.

"The Eagles are getting a quality defenseman," said Luc Ouellette, Assistant Coach of the Eagles. Marc-André reads the ice very well, is a very good passer and can play physical." Last season the East Ottawa Thunder won the EOJCHL Championship.

"The Eagles expect Marc-André to be on the power play and kill penalties," said Keith McAdams, General Manager of the Eagles. "We expect Mark to be leader and solidify the defense."
