Yeah, I know, it interferes with their play... and every one of these players learned to play the game at an extremely high level wearing full face protection.
The macho-macho men of the NFL have no problem wearing larger and heavier face-masks, and all they need to fear is flying elbows, eye-gouging and such, not frozen rubber pucks coming at ballistic speeds off composite sticks.
A half an inch lower, and Brayden Coburn would be missing an eye and the Flyers would be missing a fine player for a long time if not forever.
